GreenCurrents or Greenwashed?..
..
Has DTE Energy's massive green marketing campaign made you one of the 14,000 customers who have signed up for their "GreenCurrents" program? If so, we're sorry to tell you that the premium you are paying on your monthly electricity bill has bought no new renewable energy - not a single environmentally friendly electron is flowing to your house or business from Detroit Edison's power grid because of GreenCurrents. Worse yet, Detroit Edison (DTE) spent over 85% of its "GreenCurrents" program money on marketing and administration, leaving only 15% to purchase renewable energy certificates (which is not the same as actually buying renewable energy) in its first year...
..
Fortunately, the Ecology Center and city of Ann Arbor are proposing a better way for DTE customers who want to truly support and benefit from renewable energy. Our proposed program, which is based on a highly successful program in Texas, requires DTE to directly purchase Michigan-based renewable energy and provide the benefits of price stability and a cleaner electricity system to you - with no corporate spin or spending on greenwashing. Unfortunately, DTE is doing everything in its power to stop its customers from having an option that is green without greenwashing...
..
So, please send an email to the Michigan Public Service Commission about your support for the Ecology Center's proposed program and with your concerns about DTE's "GreenCurrents"...
..
TAKE ACTION NOW!}

Sari Brown! It does feel like it's been so long, but at the same time I can't believe that time has passed so fast! I am doing well here at school, keeping busy but not too much! How are things with you? I miss you a ton! :)

I do believe that I remember a day that you came home with mullberrys and shared them with me.
Maybe it's wishful thinking

I love "what I learned", Every time I try and write about the city it comes out in minor chords and depressing words.

I 4got to ask, which rap artists/groups/songs do u like?

You look like a Soljah Boy fan 2me.
King Alexander

Aug 26 2008 7:55 PM

I KNEW you liked rap music too. You can't have "junk in the trunk" and NOT be a fan.

How often do u get to ride horses? Seeing that YOU LOVE them so much I'd hope you were able to ride sometimes.

I've wondered this about you since I came across your profile, what is your ethnicity?
Tim

I've heard about antique baked goods before, but I never thought I would actually KNOW someone with one being passed down in their family. You are so cool. This makes me think we really should make a cherry pie together, and then put pieces of it in cedar trunks for the benefit of posterity and for the romance of history and to impress (or creep out?)our great grandchildren.
Amy

Jul 18 2008 8:07 PM

I am pitting lots and lots of cherries with an antique hair pin and listening to insane harpsichord music and snacking on veggie bacon and yet I'm still not completely distracted from the fact that I miss you. And yes, I mean that as dramatically as possible.
I hope that you saw Al Green, Sari, and I hope you're doing great!
