"Wanna know what I'm talking about when I say publishers in this town need to get clued into the writing of Ruth Greenwood? Watch this video. THIS is how a song should be written, it's quite simply beautiful - and as always, Ruth's voice is spot on. This is the title track to her album, "I Won't Apologize", " wrote Paul King in his latest Music City/Nashville blog.

As a new member of the Nashville Independent Music group, Ruth was recently featured in a round with Arthur Godfrey and Rob Wolff. She's also been invited to put together a round at the Bluebird Cafe.
Ruth began playing and singing professionally in Vancouver, BC Canada at 18 with band "Hot Damn", playing clubs, open-air concerts and on national TV. Her first song on her first demo was recorded on RCA by Gail Wynters
On hearing Ruth's first 5 demos (Ruth playing piano and singing), John Hammond (yes, the guy who discovered Bruce Springsteen) wrote "Excellent writer, good singer"
Other songs were recorded by Engelbert Humperdinck, FAME TV show cast (reaching no. 1-3 in Europe), Gary Portnoy ("Cheers" cowriter), John McCafferty (on Texas" NBC-TV show).
In Nashville, Ralph Murphy produced and released Saundra Steele's recording of Ruth's "Better than Ever", written with Jack Perricone.
She took a decade-long hiatus from the music business to concentrate on her family, but returned to it after placing 4 songs out of the top 15 in a Nashville song contest.
- Ruth has performed at the Bluebird Cafe in the round with Tony Arata ("The Dance" by Garth Brooks), at the Belcourt Theatre in the round with Angela Kaset, Gerald Smith, Ken Mellons and Rachel Williams
"Wish I'd Known" was one of 10 finalists in the USA Songwriting competition and "I Won't Apologize" was a finalist in the Nashville Song Search
Although her CD "I Won't Apologize" includes 10 solo-written songs (and one cowrite), Ruth collaborates with many writers in a number of genres, including hit/staff writers.
Ruth has also been an invited performer at Nashville's Commodore, Broken Spoke, Hall of Fame, Cocktails and the French Quarter, Millenium Music Conference, IMC/Philadelphia as well as New York City's Bitter End and the Mamapalooza Festival 2006 and 2007.
