Founded in St. Petersburg, Florida in 1998, Rude Squad is a high energy punk-rock, ska band with an eclectic sound. The unique combination of loud guitars, catchy horn lines, and strong vocal melodies creates a sound that appeals to punk, rock, and ska fans alike. The band consists of 5 members: Eric Best (vocals & guitar), Lee McElhaney (sax), Rusch Young (trumpet), Kyle Sokol (bass), and Adrian Baptist (drums). Their musicianship and effortless on stage chemistry make them natural entertainers.
Rude Squad has attributed their writing style to such influences as the Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Fishbone, Green Day, NOFX, the Police, etc. This combination of influences have allowed them to play with a variety of different bands such as Rancid, the Skatalites, Suicide Machines, the Used, Pietasters, Cypress Hill, Voodoo Glow Skulls, Mustard Plug, Stone Temple Pilots, Catch 22, Linkin Park, Everclear, Avail, Big D & the Kids Table, Link 80, Something Corporate, Bowling for Soup, Against all Authority, Unwritten Law and many other bands that have stepped on the scene and made their mark in the music industry.
They have also taken part in events throughout the state and beyond such as Warped Tour 04, 97X's Next Big Thing 2, 98 Rock's Livestock, and numerous local events throughout the Bay area.
