I ain't got no e'stinkin' band. But I do have some killer players with me on the tracks.
On these songs, Alvah does all vocals and plays drums and keys and other stuff laying around (autoharp, dulcimer, cigar box guitar).
Bass is Johnny Lee Schell, usually (Larry Tuttle played double bass on "Pushing It All Away").
Guitar is Johnny Lee Schell, joined by Berton Averre on "Goodbye Song 243".
Saxes are Joe Sublett.
Stagedoor Johnny: invisible guitar, fleshbucket, cream corn.
Timmy Cheesecurtain: bang-bang, gruntus, large-mouth bass.
Tupak Chopra: squankbag.
Suzie Moist: hammer thong, variable winds, Jelloboe.
Adolf Goldstein: Wagner tuba, jew's harp.
Influences
Influence lists irritate me hugely. Ravel influenced my life, but did he really influence my music? Some great artists influenced my writing, but not my music. Doesn't make sense? See what I mean! Beatles, Kinks, Beach Boys, Todd, Steely, Joni Mitchell, Laura Nyro, Ernie Kovaks, Zazu Pitts, Arthur Godfrey, Marshall McLuhan, Zamfir, Lester Maddox, Holden Caulfield, Poopsie, Buzz Aldrin, Brother Alexis, M. Frog, Spike Jones. See what I mean?
PLEASE NOTE THE SLIDER TO THE RIGHT OF THE SONG TITLES WHICH ALLOWS YOU TO SCROLL DOWN FOR TWO MORE SONGS! Now then. Alvah was born into a very musical family of emperor penguins in the San Antonio Zoo. After playing at every fraternity party that ever existed, and that ever WILL exist, Alvah got peripherally famous for a few years, a fulfilling period of success which he managed to parlay into absolutely nothing. After taking a few years off to discover a cure for Farmer's Lung and to drink heavily, he drank some more. Always the perfectionist, Alvah jumped headlong into the world of television, which threw him right back. He soon came out of the twenty-year coma which he had not been aware of having been in, and promptly began to write for the musical theatre and to design bowling shoes. When the medication wore off, Alvah decided that, being 206 years old, he might actually record some of his songs. This excited him greatly, and he wet himself. To this day, he is still recording, and still cleaning himself. He is very proud of having played and arranged on the great Christopher Cross hits, and he toured with Chris for years and still writes with his old friend, including some cool songs on Christopher's brand new Christmas album, available on iTunes and christophercross.com, and a brand new album coming out later this year. He was music director for Shelley Duvall's Faerie Tale Theatre series on Showtime, and did some other TV work including an HBO special for Billy Crystal. Alvah has also been dragged out on international concert tours with J.D. Souther and Karla Bonoff. He is a musical theatre lyricist and author, and his work has been seen in Chicago, Los Angeles, Long Beach, Wichita, and other fine cities. He wrote an ESL textbook for Japan and, of course, played timpani in a tuxedo in Death Valley for a Honda spot. Rob also has received gold and platinum records and all that stuff. He has been chipping away at an album's worth of songs for some time now, so he decided that it might be wise to make the individual tracks available instead of waiting for the whole thing to be finished, by which time he may have even more trouble peeing. Right now he can't think of any other nice stuff to say about himself. It is suggested that you buy his music now so you can be cool before anyone else.

Wishing you the best of music and creativity ! Love makes dreams come true.
"Who cares what you want me for?" is a great line. There are other great lines..the one comparing his brain to mashed potatoes. I also love the photo's of naked chicks. This Alovah is a heck of a guy.
