Bio
The fervor of Recovery Child's music is the main force that propels this aggressive rock band - an energy that is evident both on stage and in the studio. With singer/guitarist Ryan McCambridge, drummer Gord Davidson, guitarist Greg McEvoy and bassist Dave Palmer, this Toronto-based band embodies hauntingly reflective stories that collide with viciously poignant performances. This intensity is Recovery Child’s rock signature. In this, the band and its ideology exemplify a genuine passion for honest music.
In late 2006, Recovery Child released On Being And The Affect, which was produced by Brian Moncarz (Pilate, The Junction), and mastered by Greg Calbi at Sterling Sound, New York. Tracks from the release has been in the CMJ charts on college and university radio stations across Canada and the United States, as well as on XM and Sirius satellite radio, and many online radio stations. CIRAA's compilation "The New Indie", an audio documentary on the Canadian independent music industry, also features a track from On Being And The Affect.
Recovery Child plays consistently around Ontario, including many in Ontario’s best clubs – The Opera House, The Horseshoe, The Rivoli, Lee’s Palace, L3, The Underground, The Trasheteria, and The Mod Club. The strength of Recovery Child’s live show, and the expressiveness of their songs, have won the support of the law firm Taylor Mitsopulos Burshtein, famous for it’s success with artists like Three Days Grace (Jive/Zomba), Death From Above 1979 (Last Gang), and Sum 41 (Island/Def Jam). It has also made them the winners of the acclaimed 97.7 HTZ-FM Rocksearch, gaining them regular rotation on commercial radio, as well as nominees at the Ontario Independent Music Awards.
