I'm remaking, sample-by sample, layer by layer, 2 Public Enemy CD's (NATION of MILLIONS & FEAR of a BLACK PLANET). I will donate some of the rights to the Schuars tribe in the Amazon Rainforest. I plan on going down into the jungle and the tribe and I will remix those two classic CD's using computers from the laptop.org project and hopefully Amnesty International. Street date 5/18/2008-2025 Imagine two classic hip hop CD's remixed by the last unconquered people in the world.
The dream has been endorsed by Pete Seeger and many good friends and artists I dearfully respect.

Also, I met Flavor Flav back in 1990 and got a contact high from him. [smile] Since then, everytime I listen to "Fear of a Black Planet" by Public Enemy, I hear new sounds in it. I'm serious. I listen to it at least once a day (average). I ALWAYS hear new sounds. I thought that they had developed a new kind of technology that enabled them to update tapes and CD's, for a while. !(just kidding)

Anyway, I told Chuck D, and suggested that why don't they let me help with the remixing and remastering of the 5.1 mixes of "It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back" and "Fear of a Black Planet", so I can make sure that those mixes have the same effect on me as the Stereo mixes. Chuck said "Cool Chris", and told Hank Shocklee about me. Hank Shocklee is, in case you don't know or are not aware, is the guy who actually "discovered" Chuck D and Flavor Flav! I contacted Hank about a week later and Hank said that he doesn't work with ANYONE ELSE in the studio. I couldn't even sit there and watch, he later told me! But he did say that I am "inciteful".

Now, that word is not in the dictionary (yet). I know that he meant "insightful". however, to have the co-founder of the greatest and most incendiary, most truly gifted Hip Hop group of all time create (through error, perhaps) a new word when he was describing me is pretty cool. And the word is very Public Enemy.::: "inciteful".
For the record, I am non-violent and not about inciting anything which could consciously hurt anyone.... and my project is not inflammatory in any way.
