"Panel of Judges. They wouldn't be out of place playing a sixties
surf party or a slightly wild debutant ball, but just as everyone was getting into the good clean fun a bunch of bikers or local street toughs would turn up, because there is something in there for them too. Panel would probably not be sure who to party with after the show but under the influence of their music its possible that the two sides could get along just as they do in Panel's music." J. Michell. *********** Panel assembled in the late nineties featuring Dion Nania (Hi God people, Golden Lifestyle Band), Alison Bolger (Clag, Sleepy Township), Paul Williams (jaguar is jaguar) and Michael Nichols (crabstick). Michael quit, the others based themselves in England for a spell. When they came back people discovered that they had changed from mid-tempo share-house pop, to something similar but faster and better, altogether more danceable. Panel have entertained in such far flung places as Paris, London, Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Nagoya, Wellington, Port Chalmers, Oxford and various Australian capitals, including Geelong. Recorded output to date includes two 7" ep's and two albums, including their latest, favourably reviewed, opus 'no scandal - no future - in heaven'. The title of which was stolen from a card left on Serge Gainsbourg's grave. I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
