Obtenebris was born in 2003. From 2003 to early 2007, the band had written many songs, finishing and recording a dozen of them, they had done shows, contests and a first professional demo (still available) but, at the beginning of 2007, the band ended up parting ways...
However, after a few months, the band got together with new guitarist Sean McGuigan and new singer Tom ''Thodrekr'' Guevara and decided to resurrect Obtenebris. The return of the band was set in stone on August 18, 2007 with a triumphant show appearance at Bar St-Laurent 2, the first Obtenebris show in 14 months. The following year, after having written new songs, playing new shows and recording a new demo, Obtenebris: Stephane Deschenes (bass), Stephane Constantin (Guitar) Mathieu Roy (drums), Sean McGuigan (guitar) and singer Thomas Guevara, are in studio to record the first Obtenebris album.
