Hailing from the UK by way of Sweden, singer Jen Jansson met guitarist Gil while both were wasting away at an office somewhere in London. As it turned out, Gil was also a fellow swede and suggested they hit up a pub after work. That fateful day New Skin was born. “We met at work and immediately connected. When Gil told me he played guitar and wanted to start a band, I knew that was opportunity knocking,” states Jen. Soon after, the two recruited violinist/ keyboardist Anne-Marie and started gigging around the UK.
With their modern pop mixed with electro sound (think retro 80s) New Skin signed to indie juggernaut Cleopatra Records in 2005 and immediately began work on their debut full-length with producer Dave Allen. “Working with Dave was incredible to say the least. He really is a master of his craft and we learned so much from him. We really couldn’t have asked for a more talented producer,” notes guitarist Gil.
The band recently finished a high profile tour with Gary Numan where they thrilled audiences with their live performance. “Here we are a fledgling little band from England, and we land a U.S. tour with Gary Numan. It was amazing."

“The band's eponymous track makes like a phone-patched Gwen Stefani expelling fire-enchantress lines over a Limp Bizkit-hazing of "Turn Me Loose," while in "Hey Baby So Sad," singer Jennifer Jansson rolls up a spliff of Siouxsie and lights it right in front of the cops while Depeche Mode-esque slam-pop buffets the air” - Miami New Times, US
