    Thomas's Interests
GeneralArchaeology: Ancient seafaring cultures, pre-Columbian trans-oceanic contacts, the theory of pre-Siberian American Aborigines, origins of the Canary Islanders, ancient cities now underwater, migrations during the last glacial maximum

Travel: Been to Europe (14 countries), Costa Rica 2X, Panama, Peru, Ecuador 3X, Galapagos Islands 2X, Brazil 2X. Want to go to Italy (again), Argentina, Chile, Venezuela, Bolivia, Anywhere in SE or Central Asia, former Eastern Bloc.

Music: Playing with my organs [FARFISA (x2), VOX, Roland], electric pianos (WURLITZER, RHODES, PIANET, HARPSICHORD, CLAVINET), collecting records, Incredibly Strange album art, learning the blues scales, also see below. When I have have friends over, I like to play really obscure avanty-gardy music to drum in the fact that I'm so cutting edge, or Bill Kelly, Rex and Dave the Spazz when I have a party.

Art: Lowbrow, American Primitive (Outsider / thrift store art), Classical, Renaissance, modern

Language: German and its variants, Low German (Plattdeutsch), Dutch, Nordic languages, Spanish and its variants, Portuguese, Russian, Tagalog, Mandarin Chinese, English and its variants, dialectology, etymology, doublespeak, ridiculous businesspeak, triple entendres, anagrams, chuckling at, but not pointing out abuse's of apostrophe's and "overused" quotation marks.

Politics: I'm a libertarian. Libertarians are consistent believers in individual rights; they are fiscally conservative and socially tolerant. I don't advocate big government in any form, including foreign policy. Libertarians are a diverse group, but they all agree that the State should stay out of your wallet and out of your bedroom. Naturally, I supported RON PAUL for President and will likely be voting Libertarian in the general election. Recommended links:

Other: VEGETARIAN / healthy food (I've had no meat since January 2006), learning CHINESE, defying the minions of the State, fixing my house STILL (I've been keeping up with the Munsters, not the Joneses), antique and historic firearms (I have a C96 Broomhandle and SVT40, but would die for an StG44), exuberant meals, fine wines, ocean drives, Saucy Susan Duck Sauce, cooking with cumin, curry and basil

Hey man, no problem. Fourth of July is moot (I prefer Easter). We plan on grilling, dodging bullets and watching the fireworks from in front of my house.
I'll save my drinking for saturday night angry pudding show if I can find a ride.

Mr. Walls, I hope your birthday was WONDERFUL, wish we could have come, but alas we returned too sunburnt and exhausted from our swamp hike. Trust me when I state that we really wanted to be there to celebrate. I am sure you had alot of fun and Andy & I send you much love. Hope to see you soon! xo
