A Grammy winning musician on both sides of the Atlantic. Born in Umeå north part of Sweden 1967. Mr. Ågren was spotted as an outstanding talent at a young age as he began performing publicly at age seven, and eventually joined forces with 10 year old blind keyboardist Mats Öberg in 1981. Originally very influenced by Frank Zappa, whom they also played with in 1988 and 1991. But while some of the Zappa influence remains, they have long since found their own voices. In the mid 90’s, they began releasing CDs on Morgan’s label Ultimate Audio Entertainment, eventually forming a stable band, which has been amazing audiences in Europe, Asia and the USA since 2001. All players with superb playing ability. A well-honed, cohesive unit, showing the band arriving at its own voice in progressive jazz/rock. Mats/Morgan Band is an absolutely monster band who await the world’s discovery! hey morgan, since a long time i wanted to tell you, how incredibly import you are for me! i allready transcribed some songs from you playing with mats. i am really fascinated. i cant get enough. and i'm also blowing the minds of all people i know with your music. i even made a presentation with you playing with fredrik, at the school in porto, where i am studying fpr this semester - all the pupils and the professor were really amazed. unluckyly i am not able to go to your concerts because they are too far away, allthough i really allready thought about just flying over to sweden to see you. do you maybe intend to come in the next time, to austria, switzerland, germany or italy?
