Ghost Notes is the title of a stunning new record by acclaimed Canadian singer-songwriter Matthew Barber, his first since 2005's Sweet Nothing. Produced by Barber and engineered by Ken Friesen, Ghost Notes departs from Barber's most recent efforts in that it emphasizes the moodier, more stripped-down side of his songwriting. Recorded in six gray November days at the famed Bathouse studio near Kingston, Ontario, Ghost Notes is the culmination of almost two years of writing and demoing, and stands as Barber's most mature record to date. It will be released on the Outside Music label in Canada on March 4, 2008. Accordingly, Matthew will be teaming up with his sister Jill Barber for the much anticipated SIBLING REVELRY TOUR across Canada, which kicks off Feb.28th at the Black Sheep Inn in Wakefield, Quebec. Complete tour dates will be announced shortly.

heya Matt, just wanted to drop in and say your new record is fantastic. "easily bruised" is a masterpiece of warmth that makes me yearn to hear it on vinyl. slick move having Mr. Drouillard play on your record, too. the man is an ace. hope to catch you when you're out this way.
I can't believe that I missed you two at Hermann's on Saturday!!! I was sick in bed with the flu. Was really looking forward to it. Next time...I'll be in TO in June as my sis is having a baby so maybe we can catch up then! Safe and happy travels Matt! : )
Great production on your new album. Killer songs also. I like the album cover. A simple node to the inside sleeve of Nebraska. Well done. I wish you the best of success.
