The young singing, songwriting, and arranging prodigy simply known as MasSicker. Also, be on the look out for his big little brother known as MityMaose and the man on the keys, Mikestro.
Influences
Too many to count from Reggae, Calypso, Soca, Hip-Hop, RnB, Jazz and even Pop music
Born in Boston, Massachusetts Glenford Lee Prospere AKA MasSicker was the first son of his Parents Glen and Pauline who were immigrants from Montserrat and Jamaica Respectively. Being brought up in a musical family that was centered around their carribean church it was not long before the many forms of music that influenced him began to flow out of him.
Though Glenford's first musical passion was singing (Since age 5) over time he has blossomed into a very versatile artist/producer/songwriter with a unique style that accurately depicts the mash up between his carribean roots and his american upbringing. This cultural collision is evident through his cross-genre musical stylings from Roots Reggae, to R&B straight back to a Dancehall Sing-Jay style and even sometimes rapping.
MasSicker's love of music has also led him into the DJ business as a selector on the "Viral Sounds" sound system of Boston, MA. Since it's establishment in 2005 (When "King Mas" was only 18 years of age), the aptly named sound system has been popping up across the city like a virus and is poised to be a major player on the party circuit in the near future with a sound as unique and versatile as MasSicker himself.
Currently, MasSicker is getting heavy rotation on radio shows around the globe and is being featured on the "reggae rising" stars compilation in the iTunes store ith his singles "Look Around" and "Ackee in my saltfish". This compilation consists of big name artists such as Damien Marley, Collie Buddz, & Gyptian so clearly, big tings a gwan for this 21 year old upstart and the future is looking bright. MasSicker is slated to release his first album in 2009.
Stay tuned
