About me:

I'm glad you've stopped by my haunted little corner of MySpace! I'm the author of the bestselling Heritage of Horror series of young adult historical horror novels from Hard Shell Word Factory. Here you'll find info about me, my books, and my upcoming appearances.

My Heritage of Horror books include THE RETURN, where twins battle zombies during the Revolutionary War and THE CHANGE, where werewolves terrorize teens on the Kansas prairie in 1874. I also have a non-historical horror novel called ALTDEATH.COM, a paranormal cyber-mystery about Internet vampires.

I'm also pleased to announce that my newest book, RAVE NEW WORLD, is now available from SparkNotes, the educational publishing division of Barnes & Noble. Set in future Florida, RAVE NEW WORLD features teen cyber-psychic Jaden Emory who tries to cure a girl of her addiction to music in a society where music is forbidden. The book features over 1,000 SAT vocabulary words and definitions. To read sample chapters or to purchase your own copy, visit my website at http://www.LynneHansen.com I edited my profile with Thomas’ Myspace Editor V3.6!

Who I'd like to meet:
Readers, teachers, librarians, bookstore folks, writers of all ages. I'm also a huge indie music geek and love talking to musicians in all genres. I'm currently researching and writing books on punk, Goth, hip hop, and techno, so make doubly sure you share your band with me if you're in one of those genres.

Good news, my horror novel HAWG will be released by Graveside Tales in June.

Bad news? The creature is bigger than me and no where near as polite.

Now, you know you have to be patient with zombies.

They do amble awfully slowly...

Hey,

Thought I'd drop in and say hi.

What a great day here in Massachusetts. 80 degrees. Another day like this and I'll have to open the pool early.

I've been reading my new book to get a sense of where I am. So far I'm really pleased and I think I might even be ahead of schedule for an October release!

Hey Lynne...

Here's what people are saying about my novella, Monkey Love:

"John Paul Allen delivers well-drawn characters and emotional dynamite in this tale of dark suspense" - Scott Nicholson, author of They Hunger.

"One sadistic piece of work by one of the most talented new voices in dark fiction." - Karen Koehler, author of the Slayer series.

"Disturbing and intense, this story is a one-sit read that races, carrying you along to grim, uncharted terrain." - Lee Thomas, Bram Stoker Award-Winning author of Stained, Parish Damned and The Dust of Wonderland.

"From the first page, Monkey Love draws you into a surreal world that teeters on a disturbing balance of madness, eroticism, and obsession." David Niall Wilson, author of Deep Blue and Ancient Eyes.

"It's a wild ride, and I loved it from first page to last." - John R. Little, author of The Memory Tree and Placeholders.

"Exquisitely well-written, more than slightly twisted and compelling erotica for all horror readers." T.M. Wright, author of the forthcoming Bone Soup and Blue Canoe.

"Monkey Love is my first read by John Paul Allen and I can promise it won't be the last. Touching, peverse, oddly poignant and riddled with interesting questions about the nature of love and obsession, I can't recommend it enough. Monkey Love is the sort of tale that pushes the boundaries of comfortable and makes us question our own morals." - James A. Moore, author of Deeper and Blood Red.
