Paul is an introvert. He spends most of his time eavesdropping on the lives of others, living vicariously through passionate people. He feels comfortable and safe behind his video camera: a shield from reality. Paul is his own worst enemy when it comes to the ways of love. But Paul is tired of being a lone and he soon devises a fool-proof plan: videotaping women who he sees as potential mates, doing research into their lives, and then using his research as fodder for a "forced chance encounter." He now knows all about these women, their likes and dislikes, what makes them tick. Unfortunately, his sheepish nature keeps him from ever taking these chance encounters to the next level. Once his plan works, he freezes up and his women slip away. Hope for a healthy love life finally comes in the form of a young video artist named Erica. Paul believes he'll finally break from the tight reins of introversion and find a wholesome relationship, but Erica has other plans for him.
