Little grows from a concrete and lifeless society, which is instead left to turn upon itself in an effort to sustain what life it has; from such a place, the decrepit and fading suburban wasteland of Oshawa, has a group of young men sprung from between the cracks in the cold and barren streets and sidewalks. With the intent of emerging from their surroundings, three brothers have banded together. Through music, they give their accounts of survival in the drab and grey place from where they’ve come.

Bringing rock and metal together with melodic vocals and candid lyrics, the trio who’ve comprise Lost Cause since 2001 have crafted a unique sound through which their message is recounted. Matt, James, and Zack Bailey have spent years together, a life together, working together musically to write, arrange, and record their music, with the culmination being in the release of their 2006 debut, Kill the Sickness of Being. For a brief period after the release, the young men of Lost Cause turned their attention towards a side project of theirs, The Surface, but found that they’d strayed from their intentions musically and returned their focus to Lost Cause.

In the time since rededicating themselves to Lost Cause, the three brothers have toured relentlessly, traveling from coast to coast while focusing on writing a new full-length album. With their potent and determined sound, and their energetic live shows, Lost Cause have developed an underground fan base. They are taking their career by the reins so as to grow out of their stale and mostly sterile surroundings. The three brothers, Matt, James and Zack have cause to plant their feet and solidify themselves against environment, to remain more than a handful of dust that can be blown upon the wind.
