"We had gone a long way before we met, we traveled across the ocean to become a pair, we sacrificed proper jobs to create music, we are changing the inner world, thus changing the world around us. There is no boundary except for the one we have created inside ourselves."
Daniel and Shina, February 25, 2008
Longital are two adventurous voyagers of sound, carrying the flag of lucid songwriting into the 21st century.
THE STORY:
Shina was once graphic designer with diploma in engineering who loved to write songs and poetry. Daniel Salontay was once a computer programming teacher with degree in mathematics who went to study jazz guitar in the U.S. In 1997 Shina could not wait anymore and flew over the ocean from Bratislava, Slovakia to Cleveland U.S. and brought Daniel back to the banks of the Danube river. Here on a hill that is historically known as Longital they wrote first soulful songs drifted by ambient sounds, organic electronics, eastern european beats and a touch of psychedelia. They have found a treasure to share with others. So in the 21st century they quit their day jobs and jumped right into the music business. Shina picked up the bass. Daniel picked up an old bow. Soon after that they started their own label, Slnko Records. Released 6 CDs of Longital and over dozen of other honest bands and projects from Slovakia. Over the years, Longital have developed ultralight touring setup with a great sound. They leave traces of their music touring all around Europe. But the light at the end of the tunnel seems to shine in Central Europe, where they always return to compose new songs, enjoy their friends, garden and "a very, very, very fine house with three cats in the yard".
Previous years have witnessed Longital crossing their paths with Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova, the recent Oscar winners for best song. Longital shared stage with the pair at several festivals, played at the opening and closing of the exhibition of Glen's photographs in Czech Republic (a less known but equally amazing activitiy of the guy) and the friendship resulted in the invitation to support Hansard's native band The Frames on part of their European tour in early 2007.
Apart from Glen, Marketa and the Frames, Longital shared stage with the likes of Moloko, Ralph Myerz, Tujiko Noriko, Lali Puna, Emilliana Torrini, The Levellers, Niny Hynes, Black, Claire Di Terzi, Medeski-Martin-Wood, Susanne and the Magic orchestra and many more
Creative and tasteful use of electronics, originally initiated by scarcity of drummers in Bratislava, led Longital to award winning Remix Of Coldcut's "Everything is under control" in Ableton remix contest.

V Ostrave ste byli skvely ... konecne sem mel tu prilezitost vas videt nazivo.
