   About Larry O. Dean
I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4

Larry O. Dean was born and raised in Flint, Michigan. As a young man he worked with Academy Award-winning film maker, Michael Moore, was widely published in the alternative press and also worked as a cartoonist. He attended the University of Michigan at Flint and Ann Arbor, during which time he won three Hopwood Awards in Creative Writing, an honor shared with fellow poets Robert Hayden, Jane Kenyon, and Frank O'Hara, among others. Since then, his work has been widely published and anthologized; his most recent book, I Am Spam, is a collection of poems 'inspired' by spam email. In 2004, he was recipient of the Hands on Stanzas Gwendolyn Brooks Award.

In addition to writing, he is a singer and songwriter, working both solo as well as with several pop bands, including Post Office, The Me Decade, and currently, The Injured Parties. His releases include Throw the Lions to the Christians, Sir Slob, Fables in Slang (with Post Office, produced by Chris Stamey) of The dB's and Gentrification Is Theft with The Me Decade.

The Injured Parties' debut, produced by Mark Nevers in Nashville and Chicago, is due later in 2008.

Hi there
I'd like to invite you to listen to the songs on my profile, if you haven't already. There are four songs from our new album, 'Fingers In The Pie', and two from the first album, 'The Long Run'. Feel free to write a short comment; and if you really, really like what you hear, my special offer for direct orders of the new CD is still going. Please contact me for more information. And thank you for looking into my music!

Remember the time we fought over the last bag of Cheetos at the 7/11 where you worked? And how we agreed to give them to a homeless man instead? And then, later that day I noticed orange Cheeto residue on your fingers, and realized that you had gone back and eaten them yourself? Anyway, I still think it was entirely fair that I then cut your left thumb off in your sleep.
What you did wasn't right!

Actually, the poster is wrong. It's "Rock FOR Racism," not "Rock Against Racism." If you object to promoting cruel stereotypes through kick-ass jams, then perhaps you might want to skip our concert.

Lawrence,
My band, the Squeezed Lemonaires, will be playing at Mrs. Sanchez' garage over in Pilsen on Sunday. This Sunday, actually. There will be free beer and drunken Uncle Ronaldo will once again try to rip open the pinata in a pissing contest that will cause Madam Rosa to chase us out with a broom while calling us scum-sucking pigs in Portugese.
