Just a swingin'.............
I LOOOOOVES ME SOME KITTY CATS!
Buffy LOOOOVES the TV! (oh my gosh she is the funniest cat! love the babies)
Katie ~*~ You're my-y, BROWN EYED GIRL, doo doo dooo
Music
You are Milk Chocolate
A total dreamer, you spend most of your time with your head in the clouds.
You often think of the future, and you are always working toward your ideal life.
Also nostalgic, you rarely forget a meaningful moment... even those from long ago.
I know nothing that is out now, 'cause i live in a cave. I wish someone with really good taste would make me a mix CD. Yeah, that probably was a hint :-D I listen to 80s stuff A LOT. Random stuff like Icehouse :-D (ok, 2 songs)And lots and lots of Rich Mullins. I dunno, I go through phases... i think most of you that actually know me in my 3-D self-ness are glad that the Tori Amos phase has ended (she lost me with everything after To Venus and Back) - big ups to Brian for remembering that I was possibly the only person in the world who bought that Milla Jovovich CD in '94:-D (*DUDE* if you see her in the Mac store again, buy me a lipstick [hahahahah] and tell her i still think her CD thing was good :-D)
I love real musicians. Which will puzzle a lot of you 'cause of the extensive use of synths in '80s music. :-D But you know, play an instument, write your own song... those are the folks i respect and listen to. I don't want to be yelled at in a song, i like acoustic stuff... and to bookend this, like i said, i have NO IDEA what is out there, except the hideous children who are always all over E! or US Weekly (not that i ever look at those things! No sir! :-D) There has got to be more out there than the terrible triad of ashleeeeeeeee simpson, that duff child, and the girl who used to be red headed and cute but is now blonde and seems to be involved in a lot of car crashes. I have faith that there is :-D
That's Tori Amos, and nope, I'm not a Vietnam Vet. Although i am in a wheelchair wearing that jacket, so i can see how you'd be confused... (Some sweet person, a complete stranger, said "You look so cold! Will you please wear my jacket?" I love people like that. I wish *I* would be people like that!) Tori and i had on the same shoes!!
Movies
Classic Hollywood - (dun say Old* or i'll kick yer booty). I have collections of the films of Katharine Hepburn, Carole Lombard, Grace Kelly, Jean Harlow (she is not Gwen Stefani, btw. Go check out the real Jean. She was neat. Died hella young but had a really full life). Joan Crawford, Marion Davies, Constance Bennet. And the men: GABLE... yum, Cary Grant, James Stewart - probably the most upright citizen of Hollywood back then. Love Jimmy. Jack Carson... he was in every movie ever made and *no one* knows him, so i'll give him a shout out. JACK CARSON! and Una Merkel, best under rated sidekick. See her in many of Jean Harlow's films.
Lots more. Good stuff.
Worst Movie that all snob fans of film love: CITIZEN KANE. Roger Ebert knows nothing. Ooooooh, it's a SLED! Very Crucial!
I like a lot of current stuff, but my fave stuff is pretty much all pre - 1961. The stuff I like now will just make my Too Cool bro and cousin laff at me :-) Even though my bro DID bring DODGEBALL:An Underdog Story over[28 June 2007 added note-->i know i wrote this in 2005, but it makes me laugh - i'll update this stuff someday, folks :-)]. That movie made me laugh. And hey, one gets rewarded for watching all of the credits, which is always good. My friend Jamie taught me to watch all the credits, because those people worked hard too. I still do, like 16 years later.
uhmmm... that might be all for now
UPDATE ON THE QUEUE: Found the Cary Grant movie - maybe the Black Hole under the bed is no longer functioning :-D But the movie wasn't great.
* - The reason i dislike the term "Old Hollywood" is that so many starlet/tartlet types go to premieres and say "My dress is Old Hollywood!". And I kinda go, "Huh?" Cause it isn't. And that was just an amazing time in film, of course 1939 sort of being the Diamond in the Golden Age of Hollywood. But like i am about to write to Jeff, Yep. The movies are old. :-D
(WHILE I WAIT TO GET BACK TO MY CLASSIC PIX COLLECTION, HERE'S A PIC OF A DRESS FROM THAT PERIOD ;->.... HERE TO HELP.)
That picture is also called "If one has to live with one's parents, this is not a shoddy place to do the ... uh.... parent-living-with" My backyard is dandy!)
Television
Sometimes TV is good. You know, when they put your Mom in cute clothes and film her :-D Behold! Amy's Rad Mom:
[there was previously a youtube video of my Mum in a TV advert - but it seems to be gone. I'll check with The Bro and edit as needed soon]
As for the rest of it?
Ugh.
Everything I like has pretty much been canceled. :-) I liked FIREFLY but you know, canceled. Was watching Battlestar Gallactica [sp?] but got lost waiting between seasons. The show "LOST" was a fave, but I'm not sure now. "The Riches" - mostly just to see Eddie Izzard! Sort of interested in Desperate Housewives but it got toooo trendy. I'm trying to watch it on DVD, but it makes me all ADD - i find myself "needing" to leave. Often. :-D
I was born in the wrong time or something. I watch Nick at Night :-)
**UPDATE! I'm watching the show SOAP from like 1976 on DVD right now and it is so FUNNY! They got away with stuff that no one else has, or probably will. Pre-PC USA was waaaaaaaaaay funnier. And Benson? Rocks! Love Benson! :-)
~*~*~*~*~*~
I have been watching a lot of BBC America - I'll still watch "Coupling", although I have seen each episode eleventy - seven times. Also things such as "You Are What You Eat" (I always cry when the people lose weight! I'm so happy for them, they seem all energized and happy!) and "How Clean Is Your House". But the TV is usually just on for background noise, as I am stuck in bed pretty much all the time now.
THE LAKE IS FAR BETTER THAN THE TELLY! [another glitch - there is meant to be a photo here - i'll check that too - 13 March, 2008]
Books
I love love love to read. *My Dad just, on 24 February 2006[AND IN 2007 and in '08!], did the most amazing thing, which my brain is still processing - we have a BOOK FAIR in OKC that benefits the public library. Well, i love the lib! So anyway, my Dad, who is in a LOT of pain and doesn't get around so easily because of it, went to the book fair and bought me TWENTY FIVE BOOKS. I'm floored. I still look and think, "There is no way these are all mine! To keep! Am i dead?" :-D////// I'm still trying to read EMBRACING THE LOVE OF GOD By James Bryan Smith, but it overwhelms me, it is so amazing. So i have to have it in small doses. ///////
I guess the thing that would surprise people is how eclectic my bookshelves are - well, pretty much my whole life is that way. An old friend said "There are lots of Amys in there." and I must have looked ticked or confused because he amended it to say "You are multifaceted." Much better!
And no, y'r not crazy - that pic has nothing all to do with books. ;-)It's just me. Lying on the ground. Which, as i think MATTHEW pointed out, i seem to do often.
I have a "virtual bookshelf" on my FaceBook page - you can find me there under my full name: Amy Lynn Hunt. And in the category (that isn't the correct word but i canna recall it right now) "Oklahoma City". There is a start on a book list there.
Heroes
Rich Mullins. For so many reasons! Check out his music, it is amazing.
Also my Grandmothers. They showed me what unconditional love looked like. And generosity - the most generous woman i ever knew was/is my Dad's Mom. I would like to be much more like these ladies!!!
Grandmothers - What a great b-day. My folks and all my Grandparents who were still on the Earth then. I miss my Grands so much - will see them again!!!
I have the best pic of my other Darling Grandfather - 'will post later. Should really do some work now :-)
~*~ Here he is - my sweet Grandfather - Bapa! My Dad's Dad - Wayne Hunt I miss dancing with him - he used to put me on his feet and dance me 'round the room. Such a lovely gentleman - and he looks like Sinatra in Ol' Blue Eyes' salad days ;-) (And that's my Pop!!)
*My friend Jessica G., whose daughter is hospitalized with leukemia (I feel ill just typing that - like i'll jinx them or something) right now, and of course her daughter (I'll call her "B"). They are AMAZING.
** My friends the Clapps, who just lost their husband, daddy, and Grandpa today, 13 March, 2008, to cancer. An amazing, amazing family. I will see you when i get there, Dave. Lots of love to your family.

amy lynn BUMMED about the OU - UT game. But thinking UT is just one letter from UTI, which is oddly comforting. LOL
Who I'd like to meet: Funny people. Smart people. Girl people and boy people. Must read. Must spell reasonably well. Typos are totally acceptable ;-) I'm like, Typopelous, Queen of the Typo People. I totally get it. I would also like to meet people with the last name "SWIDENSKY". Let me know if you see any.
////////////////////PEOPLE WHO LOVE THIS SONG. I really do think i should just go back to 1985. It was way safer and far more fun there :-)And HELLO! A boy in a library? How cool is that?!
I'd kind of like to meet this little dude. He makes me smile. (And i'd like to know if he smacked the white chica upside the head. That would make my day!!:-D. Meh heh!)
You Belong in Paris
You enjoy all that life has to offer, and you can appreciate the fine tastes and sites of Paris.
You're the perfect person to wander the streets of Paris aimlessly, enjoying architecture and a crepe.
I'd like to meet people who are interested in talking about real things! I appreciate compliments on my looks, we all do. But that fades. We all have bad days. I am chronically ill, so you are (almost always! There are a fair amount of "I look baaad" pix here too - i just have this honesty thing!) looking at me on my best days. So non-superficial people? Please drop by!!
I feel your pain.. I want to do the same thing to the family room and put down laminate flooring, but am lacking co-operation....too much stuff in this case! I developed asthma when I was about 38.. weird huh? It's mainly brought on by allergies, especially to dust. Could you get someone to help you just do your room? I'm sorry for your troubles :( I know you wish you could just do it without all the hassles.
Hi Amy... that's what its down too uh? Ripping up up carpets ....Is that because of the mold??? Come stay with me for a while to be out of the mess ...IT'LL BE FUN!!!! Cheyenne is straight north ...sorta!!
Yikes, I looked at the human test strips yesterday and they were expensive! I am hoping to find some cheaper, and I'm still checking around. My vet office wasn't very helpful at all at first, but I think they are trying a little harder....Unfortunately, Scout wasn't very nice for them yesterday when I had to leave him there all day for testing! I think they think my dog is a brat! AH! :) I hope you are well, and thanks so much for listening, and offering advice.....Some folks just don't understand how much we can love our pets!! It is very stressful when they are sick!
Thank you so much, it certainly does help and is encouraging to know that I'm not alone in dealing with this! It makes me so mad though, because pets don't deserve this. I read not to feed them dog food because it will make them sick.....and I read don't feed them human food because it will make them sick. It gets so confusing! I am SO GLAD your cat improved, and I can only pray Scout will follow!!! :) Thanks for the positive thoughts!!
Thanks for the bday wish! :) I didn't do anything for it anyway, because it's all been about my dog being diagnosed with diabetes. I'm sorry you've been feeling poorly....I can relate, I've had a few bad days lately myself.....Luckily not as bad in my stomach though! Hang in there and take it easy! :) I hope you are doing well!
yea I must have confused GG with Carey...I'm sorry about that.
I know I wish we lived closer too. I promise, if I ever win the lottery, I'll take us to Hawaii or somewhere warm to lay on the beaches for a few weeks.
yea, i've gotten hooked on the facebook. I have'nt gotten into the applications tho, you might as well not even waste your time sending me them because I don't check them. I don't even necessarily look facebook so much as there's several people from back in the day to me who are on facebook and not on myspace.
I don't know but I commented back on your comment on my blog. I don't know if it sends you messages or anything, but it was kinda like a short letter to you, too. AHhhh
