In Grenada began in the fall of 2007 as the recording project of musician and artist Jesse Leyh. Having played for years in numerous bands in and around Philadelphia, he decided to recoil from the stage and interpersonal conflicts in order to begin recording some new material he felt particularly energized about. The first batch of these songs is streaming above. While work continues on an imminent full-length, recent months have seen more and more attention being paid to the development of In Grenada as a full, live band. Recent shows in Philadelphia have proven that development to be nearly complete, as In Grenada has successfully translated it's sound into an energetic, entertaining and dense stage performance.
"...there’s a dreamy catchiness to Leyh’s tunes that can’t and won’t be denied."

Hey Jesse — I really enjoyed the discs Jenny gave me Monday evening. Both the various instrumental and vocal albums, along with the work as In Grenada. They were all a pleasure to hear. People really are responding positively to the work, so congrats!
