HotKid's Shiloh Harrison and Peter McIntosh have thrown themselves on the alter of Canadian indie rock, bridging the gap between traditional country twang and melodic noise. In the spirit of hardworking bands like Eric's Trip and Change of Heart, Cambridge, Ontario's rock'n roll life line are doing things the most honest and genuine way they can. Since the independent release of their debut full length Got It To Give in 2006, and it's re-release with premiere Quebec label P572 and Local Distribution in 2007, this gutsy two-piece has been making their mark as a unique, gritty rock band on the Canadian scene.
This spring 2008 HotKid has teamed up with Guelph, Ontario's Out Of Sound Records and Zunior.com with the release of their brand new e.p., The Cost. The 3 song e.p. is a blistering shot of HotKid's blurred mix of roots, distortion and infectious riffage. The Cost is available as a digital download, complete with illustration booklet, at Zunior.com.
HotKid will be going into the studio with producer, and C'mon front man, Ian Blurton this spring/summer. Rick White (Eric's Trip, Elevator, Rick White Album) is also on board having agreed to mix the duos up-coming project.
Things are crazy! But we wouldn't have it any other way. (Actually we probably would if we could. Things are too crazy sometimes.) Everybody here loves 'Got It To Give' and is looking forward to hearing your new album.
We've got an insane new one out now called 'Wine Wine Wine'. Check back on our page in a week. They'll be new tunes up by then.
We hope you are feeling fine!
If you are eventually heading way out west contact us. Maybe we can set-up another show in the Soo.
Hey HotKid, I played your song "Quiet" on my podcast this week. The weekly show is about musical happenings in Toronto over the coming week with a cover charge of $10 or less. (It's an accompaniment to my indie music listings.) Check out the podcast at http://wwww. zygiella. com/historyjen. It's also available through iTunes, Zune, etc. Thanks, and cheers, Jen
you rocked the hell out of the jimmy jazz, and had a nice big crowd watching (and yelling and dancing. ) thanks for playing with us, and for sounding so good!
Hi! Flotilla has a show coming up in Guelph on Thursday ... come listen to the new tracks on our page, and/or come see us at the E-Bar! Cheers, Veronica

well then i guess we're even because i haven't been able to get "southern rock" out of my head this week. not to mention that you guys are at the top of my list of favourite live bands...
thanks for your comments - they made us feel all happy inside.
That was a great set at The Boat. A duo that unleashes electrifying mass destruction. The snarling decadence of 60's garage-rock, grinding blues of The White Stripes, and the explosive assault of Husker Du. Hip grinding and raw. This is what rock and roll is supposed to sound and feel like.
Just letting you know that we are the Featured band on Indiesolo. com tomorrow, Friday, June 6. Please log on, get your FREE DOWNLOAD of "When I Scream". You can also vote for us if you want.
