My calling is working with indie artists, helping them put together professional sounding recordings that improve the effectiveness of their ministries and open doors for them in terms of radio, compilation CD's, competitions and other ways that give their ministries lots of exposure and their music into the hands of those who want and need it.
My approach is from the "ground up". In other words, ICON is not just a recording studio. It is a place where I help artists using my own professional experience as a former label artist (Disciple Records) and published songwriter to craft their songs to be the absolute best they can be before a single note is recorded. . . because THE BEST PRODUCTIONS START WITH GREAT SONGS.
My clients have gone on to sign with labels (Matthew Baute - WLP publications) and win major national contests (Sean Clive - 2006 Grand Prize at the National Songdoor Competition and currently a finalist for 2007) and have their songs chosen as theme songs for national events (Nick Cardilino - 2007 NCYC Youth Conference). Every single one of my clients has gone on to gain greater exposure through radio airplay and acceptance onto major compilation CD's.
Winning contests is great. . . but the true test of a ministry's effectiveness lies in it's ability to communicate to the hearts of others through the power of a great song.
Hi, I listened to your music, great stuff, really nice job. It was a pleasure speaking with you and I will talk with you again! God Bless your ministry! Rhonda Lee
Thanks for checking in. Vince is tied up trying to get out the St. Augustine hymnal and hasn't been in touch. Last I heard he was thinking of having me work with Joe Hand or Jim Cowan. No definate plans yet. I'll keep you posted.
I'm going to be visiting the NPM regional conventions starting at the end of the month so things are going to be a little crazy for me too.
Hope all is well. I should be coming up to Ft. Wayne to do a benefit concert in the fall. Hope to see you then.
Thanks for the add and the well wishes. I feel very blessed to have made the cut. Some of my music including the songs that made the list will be in the new St. Agustine hymnal by International Liturgy Publications. I was just speaking with Vince Ambrosetti yesterday about the possiblity of working with you to produce my next CD. Perhaps we should chat about the possiblity sometime.
Who's the guy she's marrying? Ha! Funny! Same guy that's in the picture for "The Wedding Song" in my player. There's just a little more of me to love these days, and a little less hair to block the view! Gerard
My son is listening to Popple's Plaid album (singing along to Shouting in the Library!). I bought it on iTunes before this weekend's CYO conference and uploaded it to his iPod Nano. He said that he talked with Dan at the conference and told them that I would be coming to work with you. They had some good stuff to say about you and your work, naturally! Small world! Gerard
The syncing is similar to audio multitracking, but I found a few challenges with Ulead. Not sure if other software works better, but I still have a few more days left on my 30-day trial -- only about 7 days gone so far. I think I'll wait for the final version of the songs before trying another. Oh, the DVD version looks much better, even on our 42" Vizio tv. I noticed that you used a Vizio for your studio monitor -- COOL! Gerard
my bronchitis is finally going away....slowly, but surly. I have three songs line up for you and I'll record them once my throat is no long filled with mokos =)
Thanks for the add, and a sincere, heartfelt thank you for the AMAZING work you did with my little song! You went above and beyond what I could have ever asked for. I can't wait to work with you again! Thanks for the props on the CD. My wife took the pictures, and my sister designed the CD's and cover for me.
Thanks for the comment. Mike Ofca is awesome and is probably more responsible for Aubrey's overall sound than I am. We recorded basic drums and bass at a studio in Boulder and recorded the rest at Mike's studio. I just have a small home studio to record demos before going to a real studio. Anyway, Aubrey is recording some more demos, and I'm working with another singer who sings at the cathedral here in Denver. I play bass with Matt Miller at Life Teen every Sunday. Did you see him in Columbia? Take care brother.
