Me - Guitar and Vocals (not Vox, it's just one more syllable!!)
Carl Hetherington - Piano and random percussion etc
Mark Meilack - Acoustic and double bass of joy
Influences
Anyone whose music is honest and pure - James Taylor, Norah Jones, Joni Mitchell, Carole King, Paul Simon, Kate Rusby, Polly Paulusma, there are far too many to mention.
I'm also very inspired by my amazingly talented group of musician friends, including the most excellent David Ward Maclean, Adrian Byron Burns (I swear I've never seen blues guitar like that), heavier bands such as Idle Jack and the Big Sleep, bluesy greatness from le Hijack Oscar, York maestros The Falling Spikes and one of my greatest friends, Steve Hartley (The Notion).
My shiny album is now available to buy for the tiny sum of £5-8! I am extremely, very, immensely, totally proud of this CD - it features my home grown acoustic tunes with the magic touch from Carl Keys.
Beautiful harmonies, simple melodies and many strange instruments make this the album I've always wanted to produce. If I was to describe it as a feeling, it'd be that lovely tingle you get when you feel the sun shine on you for the first time in Spring. If it was a smell, it'd be freshly cut grass. If it was a colour, it'd be a rainbow......you get the picture.
My name is Holly Taymar, I'm 21, I live in a castle in York and play acoustic jazz/folk for all you lovely innocent bystanders and hope you like it.
I write all my own material, I play acoustic guitar with my own style of finger picking. I get my inspiration from anything, a particular chord, or a pair of shoes - my songs are all very different and I like to think you've taken home a little piece of me after you hear me play! I love doing what I do. I wouldn't, I couldn't, have it any other way.
In 2003 I met GenieCake Records, and eventually signed to them in 2004 before the release of my first album Less Than Nothing. The first album had a very jazz/swingy feel - since then, I have developed as a songwriter and as a musician, writing mellow but quirky acoustic loveliness for your ears.
In August 2005 I released my self titled EP, featuring 6 original tracks. The first 100 were limited edition, painted, guillotined, sketched, and folded by me - have released 2 further editions since then. Check out my music video, made by the wonderful Paul Adshead, made in April 2006 in association with 20/20/02 and Artsstra.
Not back permanently till september, I have plans that involve yourself, me, bushy, rhys, ben and other fine individuals having a lovely drink somewhere. Whey.

Thanks for including me on your page. Here in the USA, the radio is horrible, just commercial jiberish, it's all mixed and recorded the same way, so I'm using myspace to listen to the music that mainstream top 40 is missing out on. Right away I thought your music was evocative and soulfully honest. Really good stuff Holly!
I heard you on raw talent on sunday, just wanted to say that I thought you were fantastic!!! you have a great voice and I really enjoyed listening to you!!
I'm going in to do the acoustic session on the 6th of July

Hi Holly, Yeah, will let you know of any gigs that need a small blonde girl singer/songwriter :-) Similarly, if you know of any way I can get to play in York I'd be grateful for some advice.
Hi Holly, thanks for the add. I think you have a very special musical & vocal talent and I thoroughly enjoyed your set at the Huddstock festival yesterday despite the noise from other stages. It was a pleasure working with you. Take care, hope our paths cross again sometime soon. Moo xx
