Sounds Like
It’s such a pity that we are almost 36 years too late… As this lady should have been on the original ’68 Woodstock bill!
Heather Waters just oozes freshness. Her expressive nature puts you into that late 60’s trance that if you let everything around you fade into the background and zoom backwards into that time-warp where freedom-of-expression reigned supreme you’ll get an inkling of what her music is all about. This is particularly evident as her songs are almost acted out on stage as she has an incredibly unique approach in both sound and performance.
Her new album Lyrics in My Pocket was released April 2007. Watch out, Waters is rising!
Heather Waters and her band are taking their music from the stage to the streets!
Heather (on vocals & guitar), Kirsten Snyman (on violin), and Nick Frost (on djembe & percussion) are bringing a european flavour to our african streets, as they perform their music, ‘busking style’. With their violin case layed out in front of them, they are on a mission to share their music with positive energy and charisma, entertaining local communities across South Africa as they take to the road, in their VW Combi!
Beginning their journey in Cape Town and heading up towards the Eastern Cape, look out for them performing outside shopping centres, at street markets, on beachfronts and in local townships in your area. Keep an eye open for them as they will also be performing a the Knysna Oyster Festival, and the Backpackers Festival in the first two weeks of July 2008!!

Heather Waters’ music has been referred to as honest, expressive and timeless.
In 2003 Heather Waters came onto the music scene as a songwriter and musician in Cape Town, South Africa. Performing alone, or with her band, Heather Waters delivers an animated sincerity to her music.

In 2006 she returned to Cape Town, with bundles of new songs and an even more richly developed style. 2006 was a full year, Heather featured in the successful Like Honey Show at the Obs Café Theatre in Cape Town, and performed at venues like SABC Studios Cape Town, The Gekko Bar, Hermanus, and the V&A Waterfront Amphitheatre in Cape Town, she also featured in the musical line-up of many community events in and around Cape Town, South Africa and entertained audiences on short journeys revisiting the South of England.
Heather Waters’ first full album ‘Lyrics in My Pocket’, was released in March 2007.
Hiya Heather, it was great to meet you last night, I really enjoyed both sets. I managed to a few photos which have been published on the WhatsOnSA website, unfortunately there weren't any great shots. If you perform in Cape Town and don't feel like driving all the way back to G-Bay, you're welcome to stay over at my place in Muizenberg, as long as it's arranged beforehand, I should be able to accommodate your whole band. As soon as I have the space sorted out,I will soon be offering free accommodation to bands and artists touring Cape Town, about six people at a time, sharing.
Keep in touch and see you soon. Dex
P.S. Please be sure to submit your November gigs before the 20th of October.
