GSYNTH is short for Genesynthesis... my identity and business name, GSYNTH encompasses every aspect of what I do creatively and professionally. Portfolio
Influences
I grew up with classical piano and violin lessons and played violin in a symphony orchestra at 13 years old - studied modern music at York U in Toronto (modern classical, improvisation, electronic) - studied studio engineering at Harris Institute in Toronto - played in bands of all genres but the ones that were my heart mind and soul were electronic-rock hybrids and live electronic - I listen to quality music from every possible genre and particularly like breakbeat and house (esp that UK nuskool breakbeat sound like ILS, progressive like Digweed and Sasha and many more) - I can't stand music that pushes drugs, crime, violence, hate or disrespect for women - influences include the whole history of classical and electronic music from Bach to Beethoven to Stravinsky, Kraftwerk to New Order to Chemical Brothers to Moby, to countless underground DJ mixtapes, an everchanging landscape of electronic and live music, alternative rock, experimental and ambient, hip hop, blues, gospel, world music, progressive house, drum'n'bass, breakbeat - play what you like!
Formerly a studio engineer, and underground rave and club night promoter in Toronto, GSYNTH has worked in every corner of the music industry and played in live electronic and rock-hybrid bands. After a few years hiatus and some world travels she's back in the studio producing her own music.... watch this space...

Babylon Halt – 13 tracks of transglobal beats, with a breakbeat, dub, Asian and Arabian flavour...........Secret Archives’ follow-up album to Reformation has been a while coming but it’s been worth the wait. The Walls of Byzantium, a favourite with Secret Archives’ live audiences, opens a selection of tunes that includes the late-night triphop jazziness of Budayeen 3am, the political/spiritual militancy of Fear of a Black Jesus, the Moroccan-influenced Gnawa of Power and the tablatronic breakbeats of Seven Brides 4 Seven Samurai – and more.
Have a really great weekend ahead & I hope you get a chance to listen in to tomorrows music special on the TDFZ Radio Show Warmest wishes & keep Dreaming Chris
