   About Feral Media

AVAILABLE NOW at Feral Media's online shop or on iTunes where indicated.

New releases from The Longest Day, Alpen & Because Of Ghosts.

ii - Landlakes FM46
Melbourne leftfield duo ii drop their long-awaited debut in February 08. Equal parts skittering noise and skewed pop, lovers of inspired instrumental music will be in raptures.

Underlapper - Fallen Face Moon (iTunes only) FM45
Killer post-rock ballad from Underlapper's Red Sea album. Features remixes from Part Timer, Shoeb Ahmad & Anonymeye.

Touch Typist - POWWOW Five (You cannot kiss a laughing mouth) FM44
who are they? Three piece - on guitar & vocals Nick Huggins, his brother Simon handles sampler & keys, and on drums, Mark Gretton.
we like them because:: They understand that pop, poetry and noise, properly aligned can create powerful music.

Destination Moon - POWWOW Four FM43
who are they? A trio exploring percussion and fragile indie vocals reminiscent of Patti Smith and the percussive shenanigans of the Talking Heads.
we like them because:: They’re smart, different, and NOT another bunch of shaker-maker scensters from an corporate indie production line.

Clairaudience - POWWOW Three FM42
who are they? 4 piece instrumental indie pop outfit - two guys (Greg, Danny), two gals (Susan, Caroline).
we like them because:: Clairaudience have chemistry and groove. Veering from kraut-rock to country surf, Clairaudience ride the wave to shore.

Cleptoclectics - POWWOW Two (Poignancy Beats Volume Two) FM41
who is he? Cleptoclectics is the brainchild of emerging producer Tom Smith. He says, "being mostly auto didactic is liberating but also difficult. Gigs here and there. Lots of time in studio. Intermittent DJing. Honors thesis involving music and hifalutin claptrap."
we like him because:: Tom makes engaging and creative music, a refreshing world apart from most Aussie hip hop.

Comatone and Sleuthound - Albert And Leonard Put Things In Holes (12 inch vinyl / CD pack or iTunes) FM40
Blue Mountains bretheren Comatone and Sleuthound team up for a side of 12 inch vinyl each. Exploring a slower futuristic strain of beat-infused electronica and dark trippy hip hop explorations. Each 12 inch comes with a CD version of the album.

POWWOW One: School Of Two FM40
This Adelaide-based duo met on Myspace and began collaborating straight away. Jason (Pretty Boy Crossover) and Harry's electro-pop evokes New Order and Khonnor, creating a fuzzy pulse and sweet mood of melodic melancholy. 7 amazing debut tracks.

The Longest Day Sounds Of Jupiter FM38

The Longest Day Slumber FM37
The Longest Day's untethered warm distortion echoes Flying Saucer Attack and Mogwai. Now available their acclaimed 2005 and 2006 albums. For fans of fragile atmospheric buzzy pop. More? The Longest Day on MySpace

Underlapper Red Spring (CD album) FM36 - July 2007.
**** (4 STARS) As intensely wild and beautifully low-key as the changing seasons.... creates the kind of dreamy soundtrack that we’ve come to expect from musicians toying with ambience... as delicate and entrancing as a sun shower. The Big Issue.

Underlapper Little Tapioca (iTunes only) FM35
The first single release from Underlapper's Red Spring album, Little Tapioca was also infused by Part Timer's clunky bedroom folkiness. Five tracks as an iTunes download only.

Barrage 2 (7") FM33.
Our first 7 inch is two killer cuts from Melbourne's super solo sonic unit Barrage. Limited to 200 copies, each comes in a one-off screen-printed sleeve, with an individually designed badge pin. Only available at www.feralmedia.com.au & Barrage live gigs.

Various Super Shiny Sydney FM32
"Super Shiny Sydney is a collection of fiercely independent bands with the common connections of locale, and a commited approach to making quality non-mainstream music."
Featuring tracks from Sydney bands Alpen, Amanda Handel and GL Seiler, Clairaudience, Ens, Foley, Holy Balm, Morning Stalker, Naked On The Vague, Ollo, Say Cheese And Die!, Seaworthy, Sparrow Hill, Telafonica, The Monstrous Now, The Sleuthhound Fiasko, Tooth, Underlapper, Vincent Over The Sink & Yes Nukes

Various - Mess + Noise Vs Feral Media FM29
Limited edition FM sampler with issue 09 of Mess + Noise Magazine.

Because Of Ghosts - The Tomorrow We Were Promised Yesterday FM27
"You can forget most modern touchstones – Mogwai, Explosions in the Sky, Godspeed You Black Emperor! – these guys stand alone ... Because of Ghosts deserve the accolades Because of Themselves." fasterlouder.com.au

Faux Pas - Entropy Begins At Home (iTunes only)

Seaworthy - Map In Hand FM26 (iTunes only)

Amanda Handel and GL Seiler - Ghosts and Angels FM25
"This record is one of the most unique albums I’ve heard this year; hauntingly beautiful, creative, cohesive, and compositionally advanced, yet experimental at the same time -- a rare musical treat. 8/10" The Silent Ballet
