Hailing from North Texas, The Farstar is an Indie Rock band openly influenced by both noise and pop. The group’s songs have drawn comparisons to other bands with a modern sound, but they also contain ingredients from the 80s and 90s.
The group currently has two releases: the 2008 “Back to Life E.P.” co-produced by Salim Nourallah (Best Producer, Song and Artist/Dallas Observer), and 2003’s “Broken Down and Wandering” produced by Centro-Matic drummer Matt Pence (Best Producer/Dallas Observer). The Farstar is presently recording additional material for a future LP.
The band has been receiving rave reviews here and abroad. The band’s songs are featured on various compilations, independent films and commercials. The band has additionally achieved airplay on many radio stations and podcasts.
Refusing to only play in a garage, or just put songs up on the Internet, The Farstar takes winning over audiences seriously. The group shares the stage at showcases, festivals and charity functions with diverse acts of all sizes and genres. The band hopes to bring excitement to both your eyes and ears soon.
DJ Ayo- KDGE 102.1 FM (the Edge), Columnist (Dallas Morning News/QuickDFW):
"It's easy and lazy to write them off as a "good pop band", but thier songwriting talents easily break through that ceiling. (Their songs are) clean, well written and captivating pop pieces that resound with plenty of rock tinge. (The Farstar is) Aggressive, driven pop with edge, from a band yet to peak creatively. Your emo girlfriend digs them (and so do I) because they do emo the old way when it was quirky, smartly sarcastic and more atmospheric."

everything got silent i didn't speak for a month shame instead of violence she never threw a punch . i was never lonely just quiet and alone i held my breath you held my head and the water filled my lungs . theater parties underground subbasement fort and barracks spray painting band names from the past rewriting all the lyrics . secrets lost in winter songs December of ninety-four she told me not to hold my breath about evening the score.
