Sounds Like
If you spliced Grace Slick, Amy Lee, Nancy Wilson and Janis Joplin together, that's what Sonya sounds like.
Evanescence, Tonic, Tool, Breaking Benjamin, Sixx A.M., Candlebox, Queensryche, Rush, Dream Theater, Heart, Jefferson Airplane, anarchy become total peace by O.D.'ing on nuthin but good music. Good ole' fashioned progressive alternative rock.
If you've heard the buzz around the Tampa Bay area, it's probably been about Fall 2 Earth. This band's style of heavy rock unearths a progressive alternative rock flair that is definitely unlike most bands you'll find in Florida. Reminiscent of Evanescence, Tonic and Candlebox with some older influences of Rush and Queensryche, Fall 2 Earth pairs brooding lyrics with a tapestry of inspired arrangements that combines the eclectic musical backgrounds of each member.
Lead singer Sonya Walling and lead guitar player Mark Walling have been collaborating on projects since July of 2003. Now in 2008, the band welcomes Tim Fisher on bass and Mike Podber on Drums! Tim and Mike have collaborated in bands together in the past, such as InViolet and most recently Auditorium. The four have merged their vast experiences to form what is quickly becoming the hottest new band in the area.
Fall 2 Earth would like to thank former bass player Tom Westray and former drummer Dave Hertz for their years of devotion to the band. Tom is currently touring in the Midwest with Brian Ward of Teasin'n'Pleasin, while Dave is pursuing a career with studio work and recording. Good luck to you both! We'll miss you!
Constantly writing new material, Fall 2 Earth has raised the bar for local Florida bands. The band performs at a variety of clubs and bars playing either full cover sets or full original sets of music, or often a mixture of both. Whether you see the band playing their mixture of new and classic covers, or happen to catch them at an all original show, you will never fail to be amazed by this band's diversity.
On May 7, 2007, Fall 2 Earth signed on with Illumina Records to be a part of Miami Rockers For Life and the Ground Control project. Look for details on how to purchase the new Miami Rockers For Life CD here in a few weeks. Fall 2 Earth is proud to be associated with this organization and helping raise awareness of the dangers of drinking and driving. The band's single "Falling Star" is sure to be a hit on the CD!
Just remember...no matter how or where you catch the band, be prepared for a show that will rock you down to your combat boots!
The songs on this site were recorded on October 1, 2006 at Apple Studios, with the exception of Falling Star which was recorded May 12-13, 2007 at Apple Studios. Thanks to Mike Perko of Apple for your great work and patience!

Hey guys! I met you at that pub in Largo back in August last year. Talked to you after the show. I love how you pursue creating original songs and wish you the best. I'll definitely have to catch another show!
