Pitchfork is a bunch of elitists. They slobber over bands that can't write a real song, much less one of the most genuine albums of the 2000's. FATE is amazing. (at least you got a review from them, look at their review of Black Kids 'Partie Traumatic')
Silly pitchfork... until they realize that we're in love with the simplicity and sensitivity that's ingrained in the songwriting from these guys (and not emotional sensitivity, but a being awareness that pays attention to the lack of such poignant simplicity in today's musical landscape)... until they realize that it wouldn't matter what the music sounded like, it's what we all hear in the voices of these guys and it's what we see in their body language as they play live... until they realize that it's the journey that's most important to these guys and the small choices along the way, like choosing to use shitty recording methods and use the good recording methods sparingly and delicately... until they realize that these guys aren't concerned about being the flamming lips when pitchfork wakes up tomorrow or any other group that they gush over because they're doing something new and fucking totally insane or because they happen to be "reheating the past" to pitchfork's liking...
until then... Dr. Dog will still get bad reviews at Pitchfork.
