LATEST NEWS.....

JULY 2008 - CLASSIC ROCK MAGAZINE! (SUMMER ISSUE 121 - OUT NOW)

Draven are featured on the front cover cd of the current edition of Classic Rock Magazine (summer edition 121) OUT NOW Read what Classic Rock have to say about Draven and the up coming album EDEN! "British by blood but southern by riff, star-chasers Draven mix megawatt hard rock with dusty southern boogie and couple it all to pointed lyrics about our weird world and its inevitable downfall. Their debut album, the Kevin Shirley-produced EDEN, is a sprawling cinematic epic that's half cowboy-bar brawl and half Monsters Of Rock arena smasher. When not walloping the senses with leather-fitted dust-rockers like "you won't take me down again," Draven enjoy the odd dip into the too-dark park, and host their own annual charity Halloween festival, cleverly named Draven's Freakfest. Wild."

MORE ABOUT DRAVEN AND THEIR JOURNEY SO FAR....

"EDEN" is the debut album from British contemporary rockers DRAVEN. The boys just returned from L.A where the concept album (with subject matter dealing with the fall of the world from paradise in a positive, hopeful and riffed up way) was produced by mega producer Kevin "caveman" Shirley (Iron Maiden, Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Metallica, Dream Theatre, Bon Jovi etc.)

The record is a roller-coaster ride of diversity. It creeps and crawls, it whispers in your ear! At times violent but then tender and haunting. It's a journey from perfection to turmoil, from waterfalls to thunderstorms and its presentation is epic. Politics, war, celebrity obsession and even Big Brother fall to their knees before the hammer!

Draven learnt their trade touring the country and playing the same stages that had previously been graced by The Rolling Stones, Muse, Hundred Reasons and The Smashing Pumpkins. They toured the Far East where they played in sold out clubs and arenas with TV, Radio and press support before returning home to join Alice Cooper at Guilfest with The Darkness and Skin (Skunk Anansie.) Support slots with B Movie Heroes and Skindred raised their profile along with playing at an EP release party for The Lost Prophets record label and all local festivals including 96.4 Eagle FM's Party In The Park where they became a crowd favourite.

They have also worked on TV and Film soundtracks.

Not content to play other peoples festivals, Draven created their own annual open-air Halloween Festival known as Draven's Freakfest. The show is a charity event and has been given support by The Stereophonics, Oasis, Coldplay, Simple Plan, Eric Clapton, Paul Weller, Virgin Megastores and 96.4 Eagle FM to name a few. Dravens crazy escapades have been reviewed, interviewed, featured, promoted, played and supported by 96.4 Eagle fm, Delta fm, County Sound Radio, Star 106.6fm, Super Radio Manila, Rawk Radio,Total Rock Radio, Kerrang, Spill, What’s On, Time Out, The Fly, Local and International press.

The boys are currently lining up tours of the UK, Europe and the Far-East (where they already have a following) in preperation for the release of their Debut Studio Album.

In the meantime, here are some snaps of the recording sessions for the Debut Album EDEN..

I agree with Becky's comments below in the Tribe.

When i get some time off this week i'll put up the new TribeSpace background.

I listened to the Classic rock CD and your track was the best of the bunch, maybe thats just me but the song had more punch than the others.
CONFUSED?!

Thanks for the add! I wish you much success and hope ya get a crack at the American charts/audience. We need some more bands like yourselves over here, as the present state of radio here is stale and not a little boring.
Cheers!

I've just checked our account on YouTube to see how the views count is going. The count for You Won't Take Me Down Again has gone up since Classic Rock came out but the 'winner' by a long way is the acoustic version of I Don't Care with over 200 views. Not bad :). There's going to be a new background to our profile. There's preview of it in our pics section. Hopefully Rich will have the time to install it soon. Keep the flag flying :).

What a lovely surprise I got when I opened my latest copy of Classic Rock on Wednesday evening, found your name there and You Won't Take Me Down on the cd! I, like everyone else, thought you were going to be in the August issue not this one :) :). I hope the word has been spread and that everyone has been out to buy it.
Have a good weekend.

Great Band! I might be able to hook you up with a few people here in Bath who play that kind of stuff if you want to do a gig down here.
