   About Drake

DRAKE: Live Sophisticated Modern Music:
Pronc - 'dreyk. noun.

1. Mixing: vocals(MC and Singer), cello, trumpet, bass and drums.
2. Springing from a vision of equally merging tradition and innovation.
3. Resulting in a sound unequivocally robust in its expression.
4. Experimentally blending hip-hop, jazz improvisation, classical chamber music, w/ the shove of 'the rock music'.
5. Influences/Sounds like: The Bad Plus, Common, Bjork, Bach(particularly the 5th Cello suite), and Venetian Snares. From dream to reality! Drake was born at Temple University during jazz lectures in PHILLY, PA! Its first signs of life came when a jazz history professor wrote "TRADITION" and "INNOVATION" on the board. Three years later it began with an incredible group of musicians, who were mostly schooled in jazz, but interested in embarking on new and different music. DRAKE has performed at venues such as: Cafe Nema (Washington D.C), Cafe Habana (Philadelphia, PA), The Tritone (Philadelphia, PA), World Cafe Live (Philadelphia, PA), Fergies Pub (Philadelphia, PA), Wildflower Cafe (Bethlehem, PA), The Delancey (NY), and The Bessie Smith Jazz Society (Lancaster, PA) Live Sophisticated Modern Music ---------------For booking and information contact: Dave Ramsey 215-868-0882
