One of the most common questions this band get is, "What does Dolor mean?"
Dolor means pain,
However, the motivation and influence of this band goes much further than that. With songs that touch on topics that range from personal conflicts to universal commentary, Dolor delivers more than your common hard rock band. It's this reason that the band connects so much with their audience and have built a strong following for themselves.
Dolor's sound can best be described as heavy melodic rock drawing from influences such as Alice in Chains , Pantera and Sevendust to name a few.
The band's creation traces back to the summer of 2003 when Mike Duffy and Russ Scavelli first met Mike Hamel. Shortly after the first session, the three of them knew they had something musically unique happening and Dolor was born. Despite thier steady progress and development, there was something missing. Russ and Hamel, while working at a local music store, recruited co-worker Todd Mihan who was known locally as an exceptional rock guitarist. It was with this chemistry of artist that Dolor solidified the current line up of their band members.
