Distemper zu Russlands bekanntester und dienstaltester Skapunk Band. 1989 als Hardcoreband gegrundet entwickelte sich der Sound nach und nach zu Skapunk ohne jedoch die Wurzeln aus der Anfangszeit zu verlieren.
Die Energie und Aggressivitat des Hardcore ist weiterhin spurbar und wird in Verbindung mit Ska zu einer explosiven Partymischung. 
Der heutige Stil der Band ist gepragt von einer einzigartigen Symbiose aus schnellen kraftvollen Punkrhythmen und tanzbaren Skaelementen die vor allem durch die messerscharfen Blasereinsatze zur Geltung kommen.
Der rauhe russische Gesang rundet die ganze Sache ab und verleit der Musik von Distemper eine eigene unverwechselbare Note. Nicht zu unrecht werden sie oft als die russischen Mighty Mighty Bosstones bezeichnet. 
Durch die Veroffentlichung des Songs "Traktoristui" auf dem ersten Russendisko Sampler (Trikont, 2003) wurden die Moskauer auch ..ber die Grenzen Russlands hinaus bekannt. Auch auf ihren letzjahrigen Touren durch Westeuropa begeisterten sie das Publikum auf insgesamt mehr als 120 Konzerten in Deutschland, Osterreich, Schweiz, Niederlande, Belgien, Frankreich, Tschechien, Polen, Danemark und Finnland mit ihren Livequalitaten und brachten die Konzertsale ein ums andere mal zum kochen. 
Dabei heizt das tanzende Maskottchen - ein Tanzer mit uberdimensionaler Hundemaske - dem Publikum immer noch zusatzlich ein. Lohn ihrer unbandigen Liveprasenz und grossartigen Show waren 2005 u.a. Auftritte beim renommierten Potsdamer Ska Festival und beim Force Attack Festival. 
Mittlerweile haben DISTEMPER 12 Longplayer veroffentlicht, wovon "Dobroe Utro" (2002) und "Ska Punk Moscow" (2005) auch in Deutschland erschienen sind (ANR music&more/Wanda Records) und in der hiesigen Fanzineszene durchweg sehr gute Kritiken einheimsen konnten. Ihr aktuelles Album "Podumai kto tvoi drusja" wird im Fruhjahr 2006 rechtzeitig zur Tour ebenfalls auf ANR music&more erscheinen. 
Distemper are one of the oldest active and well-known ska-punk bands of Russia. The band started in 1989 as a hardcore punk band. But with the time they integrate a brass section in the band and their style changed into ska-punk. Today Distemper play very good danceable ska-punk. The emphasises is on both styles in the same time. Fast powerful punk rhythms are in a perfect unity with danceable ska elements. The hoarse singing and the russian language give the songs supplementary charme. After some changes in the line-up the band consist of drums, bass-guitar, guitar, trumpet and trombone. Especially because of their great live performance Distemper is now not only well-known in Russia. 
Distemper is a ska punk band from Moscow, Russia. Formed in 1989 it is the greatest russian ska punk band ever and one of the most famous russian punk band. For 18 years of existence Distemper has impressive achievements: many albums and compilations, really big Europe and Scandinavia tours, army of fans not only in Russia and of course a firm distemper-style, with a special energy of live performances and inexhaustible creative potential.
Distemper is one of not many russian bands which are regularly touring and releasing albums in Europe and has there many fans. The band has been invited to the biggest international festivals many times, as a headliners as well.
Distemper was the first russian band playing ska punk, but on first two albums "My Segondya s Baem", released in 1991 and "Oi du-du!" in 1993, it was actually a hardcore / punk.
Their album "Gorod" (City), released in 1995 was a transition point to ska punk music. After that Distemper has released:

Album "Podumay kto tvoi druzya" is the best album of Distemper in opinion of many fans and musicians, it is some kind of a firm press reliably fixed all achievements of the long musical way of legendary russian band.
