Melody Thornton Covers "HURT" at a Photoshoot

MELODY: music industry’s best kept secret! At the young age of 22, she has been labeled many things, cute-as-a-button, a powerhouse singer and in Blender's March 2004 Issue, Thornton was labeled a “triple threat.” Although Melody has never been a fan of labels she insists people are aware, that she is both a talented vocalist and song writer. Born to a Mexican mother and an African American Father, this Phoenix native was the only hand picked talent from the 2003 open casting call for The Pussycat Dolls. Melody first realized her vocal ability in third grade while performing Mariah Carey's "Without You" at her elementary school talent show. Leaving college finals behind to pursue a dream, she left Phoenix with little more than a golden voice and the desire to reach the top! Ron Fair tells Blender's July 2006 Issue, “There were some adequate voices in the original group, but we needed a Nicole or a Melody to bring the ability.” While preparing for the group, Melody's biggest challenge was learning the elaborate dance moves required for the then underground burlesque act. Matching her strong work ethic with her natural ability to dance, Melody had a desire to deliver. Three year's later, she's now part of a multi-platinum, chart topping, mega pop group, The Pussycat Dolls.
