Biography:
andrej pirjevec - Dede – Grown up in a musical family. He started with the classical guitar lesson at the age of seven. After four years of classical guitar in Trieste (Italy), he quit and started learning drums, what was his real passion, since an early age. He played like a drummer, percussionist, guitarist and bassist in several bands, projects and recording sessions in Slovenia of very different musical styles. In 2005 he started learning Afro-Cuban percussion. From September 2006 till March 2010 was living and regularly performing and recording in the London area. In June 2009 he graduated at the London College of Music and received the Bachelor of Music. He was a regular member of the London College of Music Big Band where he was playing Latin Percussion and Drums, and was also working as a session drummer for Tech Music Schools London for over 3 years.
In 2010 he released the debut album with his group "The Open Trio", and in 2012 was out the 2nd album of the same group where he features as a Band Leader and drummer, as well as producer and composer of most of the songs. In 2011 he featured as the percussionist on the Tomaž Nedoh Group album Reflections, released for RTV Slovenia. He was also featured as a guitarist on the 2nd album of the group Drugi Disko, as well as drummer and percussionist on the 2nd album of the London based singer/songwriter Kinzli. Currently he is performing and recording with several bands and artists based in Slovenia, Croatia, Italy, UK, etc.
