"The Pope Smoke Dope song title? He's the highest head in the church, isn't he?
– David Peel - Tampa Tribune - '75
"People say, Oh, you know Peel - he can't sing, or he can't really play and that, but he writes beautiful songs, you know, and even sort of as simple as his basic chord structures are, supposedly. - Well you know - Picasso spent 40 years trying to get as simple as that."
– John Lennon
"David Peel is the only man I've ever known - whose subconscious craziness is on par with mine!"
– Jim Morrison
Europe Tour 1996 - Rennes, France
"My own artistic growth, musically and otherwise, could not have taken on the shape it has, had I not met David Peel. He has been, and continues to be a direct, and wonderful assault on my senses. I cannot thank him enough. I wouldn't even know where to begin."
– Jeff Levy - Lower East Side Percussionist & Author: "Applelog" - The Apple Records Reference Guide
