| About cardboard castle |
Cardboard Castle are proud to announce that
on 1st June 2008 the band released
their first studio recorded EP entitled,
“Where we are now”. The recording has been a natural progression, recorded locally and providing a showcase of the band’s current work, in an attempt to establish themselves and provide something tangible for their fans.
The rock quartet first entered the southeast Queensland music scene by making the semi finals of the national “Garage to V” competition in March 2007. The band impressed judges with their energetic live set, playing before a sold out venue at the Troubador in Brisbane.
To date Cardboard Castle maintain a regular presence in the independent live music scene on both the Gold Coast and Brisbane, playing with bands such as Ellington, Lebelle, Operator Please, The Greys and Repeat Offender. (To name a few)
The boys have been classed as California punk and dark rock through to Jangle pop. Either way, Cardboard Castle play well crafted and infectious rock songs with smooth melodies and catchy hooks.
Steve Gray band member, (guitar), says they key to the band’s success so far has been their ethos:
“We’re stoked just to play and hope the crowd go home singing our songs long after they leave the venue. We’re not your average rock band, checkout our myspace and come and see us live. You’ll be pleasantly surprised.”
