The Brooklyn Tea Party is located in Bushwick, Brooklyn. We are four people and one cat. All of the people make music. The cat is a cat. We have parties for our friends in the city and from out of town, fun get-togethers for people we love and respect. This is not a big fancy rock club for huge roving gangs of strangers to wreak havoc. We can't make you famous, but we can share our warmth with you. We may pass a hat for touring bands and snacks. Here are some ground rules we'd like you to follow at shows:
1. Pay the Bands
2. Respect Chuck Noblitt
3. Don't drink what you didn't buy (w/o asking)
4. Smoke outside, drink inside
5. Don't fuck up our stuff (materialist as it may seem, we like our house and we like having parties, and would hate to not have either).
6. Please help keep our neighbors happy and don't hang out in the hallway!

HOW WE PICK WHO PLAYS HERE- If you want to play here, you should be our friend. Not just our myspace friend! We schedule all of our performances proactively, meaning solicitations from bands we don't know aren't likely to turn into performances. The best way to get into the Brooklyn Tea Party is to come to our parties and hang out, and also, to be musically outstanding!!! We only do one party per weekend, either Friday or Saturday night. Music starts at 8PM, and ends at midnight. Sharp. The party may go on a bit longer. Space is limited, both onstage and off.

Hey, if you guys find a stray Art Sorority For Girls CD, it is mine and fell out of my purple swim trunks. Apparently, the pockets aren't specifically designed for holding CDs when you swim.
Holy shit, the show for July 25th is going to kick everyone's asses! Jeff Lewis??!! With Costello and The Outlines?! Nothing on this earth could possibly prevent me from making that one!
