ABOUT.
It wasn’t planned. The goal was to hibernate.
Justin Vernon moved to a remote cabin in the woods of Northwestern Wisconsin at the onset of winter. Tailing from the swirling breakup of his long time band, he escaped to the property and surrounded himself with simple work, quiet, and space. He lived there alone for three months, filling his days with wood splitting and other chores around the land. This special time slowly began feeding a bold, uninhibited new musical focus... "Bon Iver’s live aesthetic is partially due to his distinct and intense falsetto, which when he drops into a normal tone is still just as moving. - CMJ (12.11.07)
"Bon Iver - stumbled into just the right combination of bad times, good karma, and genuine talent to come up with For Emma, Forever Ago"
- Boston Globe (11.30.07)
"The album is a reminiscent, ruminative collection of songs full of natural imagery and acoustic strums - the sound of a man left alone with his memories and a guitar...Rarely does folk - indie or otherwise - give so much over to ambiance..." - Pitchfork (10.04.07)

soo... how the heck did you manage to get yourself in an episode of grey's anatomy? i'm here just listening to the episode while doing some work and wondered, "how did my iTunes start?" and then i realized it was you. on the show. holy amazingness sir!!
Justin, you were stunning on Jools Holland. SO GLAD to see you get on such a show.
Your music is truly brilliant and im trying to get hold of the album asap. I love your story of goin to the cabin away from everything too. Its kind of what ive wanted to do for quite some years now. I feel i need it for spiritual reasons or something. Like i feel i need to do it to really find myself, you know?
Take care anyways. Congrats on all you've done so far.
I learned of your music via an email I received from 4AD to whom I am really grateful. You have a lovely sound going on here.
4AD's email included this info, "This month also sees Justin make his UK TV debut with a performance on Later With Jools Holland, which airs this Friday on BBC2 at 11.45pm."
So, I look forward to seeing you tonight, in my living room, round about 11.45pm - I've passed the info on to my myspace friends :)
I thought I heard you on Grey's!! I spent over an hour trying to see if it was you. Congratulations. You should come to Iraq and do a show of us. That would make the 15 months go a hell of a lot faster. Hope to see you soon.
