Beyond These Walls is first of all an union of friendships and music.
Back to 2005 after they all broke up with their respective bands (Unfistrife, First&Third, Unblixion, etc) Eric and David decided to start something new for them trying to blend hardcore and metal in a different way.
Eric, who was most of all listening to Korn, Messugah, Converge, was at his first time into a metal hardcore band.
Meanwhile David is suffering the loss of all his achievements with Unfisitrife and just jumped straight into Beyond These Walls' project.
Sadly in december "06,
David who was back from an european trip founds the band with no motivation at all even if the band still has played concerts while he was away it was just a deseperate cause. At the same time as they were talking about breaking up, Jimmy (Drums) annouced the band he's leaving to join the Canadian Forces and suggest to bring a new drummer into the band that may bring back the band to life but David doesnt agreed at 100%. It is so damn hard to replace a friend who became a member of the family so quickly. And there was something else going wrong not just the drummer or all the shit they may have been through during the years.. so David took a wierd decision, he decided to quit playing guitar to jump on vocals wich results the departure of Eric L. on vocals. Then, Beyond These Walls was up only with Eric (guitar) and David (vocal). So Martin who was filling in while David was in europe accepted the offer to fill in for another year on bass guitar and then they followed the suggestion of Jimmy to bring Simon in the band (That was maybe the best idea ever!). They rehearsed for the first time with this line up early in "07. During this year Beyond These Walls has played up to 30 shows with bands like :
August Burns Red, A Perfect Murder, Anonymus, Beneath the Massacre, Blinded By Rage, In Search Of, Raised Fist, The End, Johnny Truant and more all over Quebec and even down to the US.
The band is taking a break in 2008 to record some shit. They really want to come to term with the old Beyond These Walls' shit. They have recorded
11 tracks for this record but most of all songs are old songs like ( The End Of A Nation / Walk Along My Fate) which will absolutely not figure
on the cd. Instead of a LP album the band decided to release only a EP with the 5 news track of the 11 recorded.
Looking forward to 2009. The band is planning to work with Luc Tellier (Delson Drive, Closedown, Excute The Sinner,etc) for some promotional stuff so be sure to check the myspace's page often. The deal is, be more agressive more, metal more hardcore, more mean, more everything than whatever they have done before.
Beyond These Walls had through the years many different members playing different roles.. We really wanna time to thank 'em of all for being a part of Beyond These Walls ;
