apophenia

Music without groove is as cold as ice... As a band we are blessed to have the kind of deep-pocketed backbone you find in our music. Thanks to our drummer Charles Norris and bassist Charles Jourdan who are Jazz and Classical aficionado's. Seamus Kerley and Nadeem Ahmed contribute a battered and beautiful relationship of climatic hysteria and ambiance. Adding the elements of full rounded lush guitar textures and guitar madness that teeters on the fine lines at pivotal moments... Giving, pulling, and demanding through the dynamics of a groove oriented rhythm section makes for an experience from the heart.. Adding the cryptic writing style and delicate voice of a shy outgoing front man like Seamus Kerley just makes things understandable in the realm of apophenia.

When you look at the shell...

The shell is quite diverse... The origins, the appearance, the styles, and musical backgrounds of the members exist in polarities. But members consider that to be what is cool about Apophenia. Standing with their backs turned from bands trying to dress more alike. (Or really trying at all?) We consider our differences in mannerisms and style to be a sort of collective esthetic for life in New York and America. There's a true sense of realism with us and the music we make... And under neath the shell you may ask? We're growing.. We're working our asses off at being a better band and being better people!

"There's so much more to learn" - Orbiter (the FIRST song we ever wrote together)

that will stand true til the end of time...

Live, Seamus Kerley's timid laid back nature and the contrasting bands intensity and musicianship communicates with audiences. From the moment we have all met disasters seem to just become a sort of collection of memories for us... (no kidding ask us we have stories for days)

But sometimes accidents are quite beautiful when u bump into the "right walls" and are forced to - stop - look - around - and unwind in the moment...

The Quick Release

The artwork to embrace our latest effort was all done by none other than Lawrence Yang. I'd suggest you check him out immediately and buy his mini portfolio that showcases his influences from traditional Chinese painting and modern urban art. Departure features paintings done with watercolor, marker and ink, as well as graphic pieces done digitally.

The Quick Release & Departure have an affinity and we personally promise buying this book is worth every single penny

Purchasing The Quick Release and Departure is the full atmospheric audio_visual - body & mind experience...

apophenia - that which can't be sensed by the usual 5.

what a beautiful concept: How bold of you to claim it all, yet noble to put this ephemeral observable world into perspective.
