About me: Anakbayan,SD is a comprehensive autonomous National Democratic youth and student organization. We seek to empower the youth and the community in San Diego by the grassroots educating, organizing, and mobilizing of youth to create systemic change. AB,SD seeks to propagate the National Democratic struggle in the Philippines and all principled pro-people’s struggles locally and throughout the world, thereby enhancing the quality of life of Filipin@s and other oppressed peoples nationally—especially the youth and the larger community.
On Saturday, May 10th, the UCSD Kamalayan Kollective, a Pilipina American progressive student organization,will be hosting their first annual Katutubo(Indigenous) Kulture Nyte at the on campus UCSD International Culture Center. Come witness rare performances by Igorots INA (formerly BIBAK Los Angeles) and the Pakaraguian Kulintang Ensemble of the Samahan Fil-Am Performing Arts & Education Center of REAL dances and music from the Cordillera Mountains of Northern Luzon and the Southwest coastal areas of Mindanao & Sulu. Performance time starts at 6:30 pm to 8pm. Free Admission. $5 Food. (Workshop 3-5pm at the Cross-Cultural Center)
