| Alison Keslow: General Info
| Member Since | 4/10/2008 | | Band Website | alisonkeslow.com | | Band Members | The line up for my last CD was Alison Keslow on bass, Dino Govoni on saxophone, Dave Limina on piano and Peter Wiernik on guitar. I play with many different musicians depending on who I'm backing up that night. Recent performances with my group include anyone of the following depending on the gig. Piano: Gene Kelly/ Michelle Gately/ Dennis Hughes. Guitar Peter Wiernik/ Kevin Grudecki/ Scott Tarulli. Drums Mike Casano. | | Influences | Anything great I hear. I grew up listening to classic rock like Led Zeppelin and the Rolling Stones and later got into Jazz and funk. Some influences of mine are Brian Bromberg, Christian McBride, Jaco Pastorious, Scott Lafaro, Ron Carter, Dave Lurue, Bruce Gertz, Dave Holland, Lincoln Goines, Jeff Andrews, Mike Stern, Emily Remler Chris Squire, Sting and many more. | | Sounds Like | At live gigs people have told me that I sound like anyone from jazz bassists Bob Cranshaw and Lincoln Goines to rock bass players such as John Paul Jones and Jack Bruce. I sound like a meshing of all the above players but basically I have my own sound. | | Record Label | Lunartone records | | Type of Label | Indie |

| About Alison Keslow |
I am a Boston based bass player and composer of instrumental music. I'm mostly doing freelance work these days... If you need a bass player, contact me! I grew up in New York and moved to Boston to go to Berklee. I'm fortunate to have had so many great teachers including Rich Appleman, Oscar Stagnaro, Joe Santerre, Bruce Gertz and Charlie Banacos. After graduating Berklee College of Music, I played steady gigs all over New England in clubs including: The Hard Rock Café, Harper's Ferry, Bills Bar, Mama Kin, Dodge Street, Cameron's, The Regatta, Johnny D's and many more. I backed up big bands like Stage Door Canteen and The Classiques, singer songwriters, jazz groups, rock bands and theatre productions. After many years of being a sideman, I decided to step out as a leader. My debut CD "Between Earth and Sky" was released in 2003. It has received air play on the Jazz Oasis and Women in Music programs on WERS radio in Boston, Upper Room with Joe Kelly on WVOF in Fairfield CT, WMFO at Tuffs University and Women on Air which broadcasts on over 99 public radio stations across the country. I love instrumental jazz, funk and blues but am open to music of all kinds. I play gigs with my own group and freelance with several local artists. I also teach bass lessons and was a public school music teacher/band director for 8 years. Currently I am working on a new CD due out in 2009.
