Who I'd like to meet:
God created us for relationship, both with others and with Himself. His perfect design for Eve and Adam was meant for all of us… unconditional acceptance…complete intimacy…unreserved love between two people. But that ideal became flawed when they exercised the freewill their creator gave them and decided to live without Him. Sin and selfishness were born and interpersonal relationships have gone downhill ever since.
The truth of the Bible, God’s “communication” to us, states that we can never be good enough to restore that first love as He created it. The penalty we owe God because of our sin and rebellion against Him is simply too much to pay.
But the great news is that God loves us so intensely that He has already provided our payment. It’s not a simple concept to understand, but when God sent His Son Jesus to earth, His ultimate purpose was to die in our place and open the door once and for all for us to return to God…if we so choose. He died for our sins, then overcame our final enemy, death, that we may one day do the same.
The life He offers during our time on earth is nothing short of transforming. If you believe that Jesus is God and that He died and rose again for you, the original relationship God intended for you is restored.
