We are a group of autonomous Syracuse anarchists, anti-authoritarians, and community activists. When we look at the world around us it fills us with grief and rage.

A world of pointless wars with no end, a world of ecological devastation. A world full of racism, corruption, and greed. The old order of cops and bosses has grown stale and change is necessary.

We have a new world in our hearts. A world in which there is room for many worlds to fit. A pluralist world beyond borders and profit. A world where mutual aid, consent, and solidarity exist as the foundations toward building a free and just global community. But freedom and justice are useless without liberation. Freedom and liberation need to be defined by the people, not by politicians or a system based on white supremacist capitalist patriarchy. We need to fight the rich, not their wars!

The Iraq war is just one more expression of the social war we fight everyday. The battle lines between the wealthy elite and the exploited masses have not shifted. As the economy becomes globalized, so does resistance. Resistance is constant and growing. From the Zapatista movement to the indigenous in this country asserting their autonomy and land rights. From the Sans Papiers in France declaring that no one is illegal to the local labor organizers fighting the racist terror of the ICE raids. From farmers in India burning genetically engineered crops which threaten their livelihoods and the food chain of the entire planet to those who carry on the earth liberation struggle in the face of the repressive state tactics of the Green Scare.

Each and every one of us is a part of this fight. Whether we like it or not, each of our lives has a very real impact on the rest of the world. So we all need to choose...which side are we on? Do we want to continue to work and die so that a few rich people can get even richer? Or do we want to take control of our own lives, our own destinies, and defend the planet and all of its inhabitants from further exploitation and destruction?

The choice is yours...and time is running out.

National Day of Action against Electoral Politics - August 10th
http://dncdisruption08.org/?p=112
In order to build momentum towards the Democratic and Republican National Conventions, Unconventional Denver, the RNC Welcoming Committee, and various Unconventional Action groups from across the country are calling on anarchists nationwide to mobilize against the spectacle of electoral politics on August 10th.
We will use the tenth of August to build momentum and make it clear that we are not against one party or the other, but the totality of capitalism and its protector, the state.
A few ideas include: actions targeting party headquarters, blockading recruitment centers, dropping banners, holding teach-ins, wheatpasting anti-DNC/RNC posters, doing a radical filmshowing, holding a benefit for local organizers in Denver and the Twin Cities, protesting a corporate donor to the conventions, etc.
Reportbacks from actions can be posted at
www.unconventionalaction.org
Good Luck! Be creative, be militant, and be fearless!

"Syracuse Youth in Action is a group of young activists in greater Syracuse. We formed in the summer of 2007 and shortly after held a large unpermitted march against the war that took over the lawn in front of the Federal Building in Downtown Syracuse.
Youth in Action aspire to educate, unite, and mobilize the youth in greater Syracuse area in an effort toward greater social justice and an end to the suffering caused by capitalist imperialism.
This summer we will be holding more rallies, a possible anti-war march, activist movie nights, and other such actions."

Rise up against war!
Who I'd like to meet:
Other anti-authoritarians, anarchists of any flag, and community activists interested in participating with the Syracuse Solidarity Network. We are NOT an exclusive group. Instead, we base our affinity with one another around "Points of Unity".

SSN is participant in the North East Anarchist Network. The Northeast Anarchist Network (NEAN) is a recently formed network of anarchists and anti-authoritarian organizations and individuals that has been meeting and collaborating since February of 2007. Comprising groups and individuals from 7 sub-regions in the northeast our aim is to create a regional, horizontal organizing network in the Northeast, linking those committed to struggles anti-authoritarian, anti-capitalist and anti-oppressive.

NEANARCHIST.net

SSN Points of Unity :
1) A rejection of capitalism, imperialism, and authoritarianism (hierarchy/ the State).
2) A rejection of all systems of oppression, including but not limited to sexism, white supremacy, heterosexism, and capitalism. We recognize that all forms of oppression are interconnected and support the self-organization and autonomy of oppressed groups. Respecting different priorities, we will reject imposing a hierarchy of oppressions in our organizing and will recognize the leadership and resistance of communities directly affected. We will be accountable for power and privilege within our network and work towards a holistic anti-oppression culture of resistance.
3) An organizational philosophy based on decentralization, autonomy, and mutual aid.
4) An attitude of active resistance towards all state, corporate and other oppressive institutions.
5) A call to direct action, support for emancipatory social movements across Syracuse and the world, advocating the liberation of all as well as the construction of alternatives in Syracuse.

Student asks his principal, "Where is my teacher?".

"Citywide layoffs", replies the principal.

"My text books?" asks the student.

"State austerity plan", says the principal.

"Student loan?" continues the student.

"Federal budget cuts", says the principal.

Finally, exasperated, student asks, "But how am I going to get an education?".

To which the equally exasperated principal replies, "This is your education".

Call for Submissions: Anarchist Yarns

Deadline: August 1st
Length: 1000 words or less
How to Submit: email louisvuittonnight@gmail.com

Description:
Anarchism has a bad rap. There are so many myths and negative assumptions about anarchists floating around that to wade through them all would turn anyone into a creature from the black and red lagoon. Which is why we’re devoting a whole issue to our stories from the silly to the poignant, from the hilahrious to the just fucked. We want everyone and their granny anarchy to write in a short little story that presents the real side of anarchists, whatever that may be. Don’t pull your punches though, no one’s selling anything, we want the truth and nothing but the truth. We are particularly interested in getting some good old punk house stories or stories about all the crazy anarchist co-op shit that goes down but we are equally interested in the personal side of things, the tears behind the sunglasses, so to speak. Honestly, it can even be made up if necessary, fuck the truth, in fact a bed-time story or two wouldn’t hurt anyone. We know you have your stories, and you have three whole weeks, so make it work!

ps.
We’re still looking for anarchist erotic stories, do anarchists even have sex anymore?
