He began producing hip-hop/R&B instrumentals in the summer of 2001 at the age of 14. After attending three different public/private high schools, he transferred to the High School for Recording Arts (HSRA) in St. Paul, MN, an institution founded by popular hip-hop artist David "T.C." Ellis, known for his collaborations with music legend Prince. The school's music director Phil Winden, who notably hepled in the development of Tyler the Creator at the school's California branch, helped Zae to broaden his skills in music production and new software and technology.

After high school, he utilized his talents to manage a recording studio where he worked as a engineer for many years, profiting from his engineering abilities and leasing instrumentals to other aspiring artists. During this time, he would also become a member of a well-known conglomerate of DJs and event Promoters at various venues in the Twin Cities, where Zae and his DJ/promotional mentor AK used these venues to give other local artists many opportunities to showcase thier music to the public through live performance. He mastered his skills as a performer on the world-famous University of Minnesota West Bank, known for it's independent music scene, and in the popular nightclubs of Downtown Minneapolis / St. Paul and the surrounding areas.

Young Zae is featured on the compilation album "The Hit List", as well as fellow artist Shaun Rich's "StageLights" (on which Zae was majority Producer and Engineered in it's entirety), Checkmate's "Thoughts of You" (as a Producer and Artist), and production for King Sandman's "The Rebellion". His productions can be heard on the projects of various artists around the united states. He has engineered for many mainstream artists such as Edi Emin (of 2pac's Outlaws), Young Buck, and E-Ness (of P. Diddy's Bad Boy Records) to name a few.

After over 10 years working in the music industry, Young Zae emerges from behind the music to give the world his long awaited debut solo project.The EP is an exhibition of his talents as an emcee as well as his prowess in production and masterful engineering. It is a testament to his journey as young man and his evolution as an artist. It is set to be released in 2014.
