An offspring of the youth services at Calvary Temple Worship Center in Modesto, CA, modern worship quintet Worth Dying For got their start playing anthemic, rock-infused praise tunes at weekly gatherings at the Stadium, a meeting place for young people.
After signing to worship giant Integrity Music in 2007, they went into the studio with tobyMac collaborator and producer Dave Wyatt to record their self-titled debut -- a disc with shades of fellow Christian rockers Paramore, Fireflight, and Hillsong United. When Worth Dying For was released in the spring of 2008, it hit the lower rungs of the Billboard 200 and peaked in the Top 20 of the publication's Top Christian Albums tally. ~ Andree Farias
