Portland, Oregon-based indie rockers Tu Fawning formed in the late 2000s around the talents of 31Knots bandleader Joe Haege, singer/songwriter Corrina Repp, and Portland music scene veterans Toussaint Perrault and Liza Reitz.
Citing influences as diverse as Django Reinhardt, Tom Petty, Bing Crosby, and Jay-Z, the quartet draws on elements from Haege's post-punk past and Repp's indie folk present, resulting in an intoxicating blend of moody, angular pop and rainy Pacific Northwest indie rock that brings to mind artists like Portishead, PJ Harvey, and Florence + the Machine. The band released its debut EP, Secession, in 2008, followed by Hearts on Hold (2010) and Monument (2012). ~ James Christopher Monger
