Tobias ben Jacob is a Devon based alternative Singer-Songwriter hailing originally from Preston.
This June saw the release of new seven- track EP 'The St Sidwells Session' recorded live on location at a Grade II listed church in Exeter.

The EP was conceived as a precursor to a more studio based album planned later in the year and its release was followed up with a sterling performance at this years Glastonbury Festival.

Recent live performances have been testament to a renewed vitality and honesty in the material, and an increasing creative mastery in the vocals and acoustic guitar work. The live show is a dynamic and emotionally charged affair, ranging from high-crystalline falsetto led tracks like 'We Are The First Ones Now' to more driving riff-driven earthy numbers like 'I Breathe In Life.'

Some career highlights to date have included performing live on air at BBC's Maida Vale Studios for 'Late Junction' on Radio 3, recording music in Nashville, Tennessee and in Livingstone Studios, London (Bjork, REM, Richard Thompson) as well as touring many UK venues and festivals including Glastonbury, Green Man, Secret Garden Party, Larmer Tree and Electric Picnic (at the latter supporting J.Tillman of Fleet Foxes) Prior to going solo Tobias played in 'The Roots Union' alongside Phillip Henry & Hannah Martin (winners of Best Duo at the BBC Folk Awards.)

Tobias is currently putting together a new live band which features Lukas Drinkwater on upright bass and backing vocals..
