Based in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula (and named after the Marquette Senior High School women’s teams), the Redettes are a trio formed by folk troubadour Sycamore Smith.
Looking to get back to playing with a band after plying his trade solo, the former Muldoon's frontman recruited Matt Bullock and Jesse DeCaire to fill out the lineup. Merging the old with the new, the Redettes blend the spirit of the Muldoon's garage aesthetic with Sycamore’s later folk excursions, giving the band a sound that evokes the proto-punk and pub rock of the Modern Lovers and Elvis Costello. In 2011, the band made their debut with the EP, Ed, released on Phratry Records. ~ Gregory Heaney
